Sabres Ehrhoff looking forward to his return
‘As far has how Ehrhoff sees it, “It was a business decision by Mike Gillis and I moved on and I’m happy where I am right now and we’ll see how the fans saw that transaction.” So the question is, were there hard feelings? Ehrhoff said, “It’s always tough when you get traded, but the first couple of days there was so much stuff going on, being traded to the Islanders for a day and then being a Sabre the next day it all went by pretty quick.”’
Former Sabre Kassian ready to face his old team
‘I asked Kassian if there was any bitterness. He stopped to think and then said, “No, hockey’s a business. If he feels that was the right move then so be it. I think I’m a young player and still have a lot to prove, I’m just looking forward to getting the opportunity. I definitely have something to prove to both the Sabres and Vancouver. I think as a young player in this league you have to make a name for yourself and me being traded away from Buffalo I obviously want to play well and to show them what I could’ve been. Vancouver has high hopes on me and I want to play well and show them they didn’t make a mistake.”’
Hodgson line takes wing for Sabres
‘”By far our best line,” Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said. “We’re going to need a little bit more out of our other lines in the next couple games to come through for us, but there’s been some instant chemistry.”‘
Miller credits Sabres teammates for shutout string
‘”Again I had my guys around me. I could make my reads, make my plays,” Miller said after Thursday’s 1-0 win in San Jose. “Team effort, and a good one.”‘
Buffalo game looked like a yawner, now it could be ‘fun’
‘“It leaves you sour a bit,” said the 21-year-old right-winger. “But you quickly turn the page once you come to this city and see the fans and where the team is in the standings and the chance they have here in the playoffs. Your mind quickly forgets about Buffalo and it quickly zones into here.”’
Hodgson stickhandles through controversy
‘“Like I said, I don’t look back at everything that’s happened. I’m happy for my time here. I’m really grateful that they drafted me and gave me an opportunity to play. They helped develop me and become the player I am today so I have nothing but good things to say about the organization and what they’ve done for me.”’

Hodgson gone from Canucks but not forgotten
‘”I don’t look back at anything that’s happened here,” said Hodgson. “I’m happy for my time here. I’m really grateful that they drafted me and gave me the opportunity to play. They helped me develop into the player that I am today. So I have nothing but good things to say about the organization.”‘
Sabres Hodgson won’t address if he asked to be traded
‘They got straight to the point asking him if he or his agent had asked to be traded and the newest Sabre said, “I really enjoyed my time here. I got along well with the organization and the staff, the players. It’s tough to leave, but at the same time it’s a new home in Buffalo and I’m looking forward to meeting the fans there.”’
