This guy needs to get his facts straight.

linky

"Give Ruff this much: He's getting incredible mileage out of his Sabres; he's getting high-octane performance out of a low-octane budget..."

Does he even know the Sabres are up against the cap and increased payroll over 50%?

"Who are these guys up front -- Briere, Drury, Afinogenov, Kotalik, Roy, Pominville?"

Does he even watch hockey?

...and in case you wanted to reach this guy.

Good eye, ink. You failed to mention, perhaps out of mercy, that this clown called Lindy Ruff "unheralded." I think Lindy has a piece of hardware that makes him pretty heralded. Worst of all, though, the guy called Buffalo a "wasteland." Now, he indicated that liked the city, yada yada yada, but it just seems like a bad time to make a remark like that. Twelve people, at least, died in that storm...

What a hilarious article!

"Who are these guys up front -- Briere, Drury, Afinogenov, Kotalik, Roy, Pominville? This isn't a hockey team; it's a United Nations of no-names"

Since when exactly is Chris Drury a no name? Since he won the Hobey Baker award? Or since he won the Calder? Or since he won the Stanley Cup? I can't remember.

"no outrageous contracts" $5 million for Briere isn't outrageous? Actually, the guy is right, the arbitrator really should have given Danny more like $7 or 8 mill. Canadian.

"You will not find the likes of Jaromir Jagr taking up residence in Buffalo. Sergei Fedorov wouldn't dump a no-trade clause to relocate there." Why in the world would Darcy ever want to bring Jagr or Federov to Buffalo? They would completely ruin the budget and neither one shows up every night. Federov is a freakin joke.

"Ruff, currently the longest-serving coach in the NHL and with more than 300 Sabres' wins to his credit, has a shot at repeating as the NHL coach of the year." Unless Lindy gets this team to go 82-0 (which certainly is not out of the question) or completely shatters the record for number of wins in a season (which is 62 by Detroit in 95-96) I can't see him getting Coach of the Year. Coach of the Year almost always goes to a coach whose team was not perceived to be very good, not predicted to be in the playoffs, yet wins their division or finishes in the top 4 of their Conference. This year, everyone and their mothers are predicting the Sabres to finish 1 or 2 in the East.

What an idiot!
