I mean we are 8 points out of first right now...but still last in the conference...it's wild how tight things are this year.

The Canucks have one talent:  Hustle.  Beyond that, they're not very good.  In the first period they threw everything they could at the Sabres and the Canucks were fortunate to get out of the period tied.

As the second period wore on, the Sabres seemed to adjust the constant pressure and learned to counter it, scoring two goals to go ahead.

In the third they stopped trying to score which was a mistake.  My frustration wasn't focused so much on how much play was in the Sabres end; it was more that the Sabres weren't playing in Vancouver's end.  They were content to get it out of the zone and regroup instead of counterstriking.  They were also lazy at times even clearing it out of their own end.  I thought it was a big mistake but in the end, they got away with it.  That kind of prevent defense/Alamo mode of play is just playing with fire.  You just know the other team will score eventually.  But the Canucks aren't the Oilers; they just don't have the same level of scoring talent.
