nodnarb
It's nice to read that players get the sabres, even if ESPN and OLN does not. Fuggem. "(Buffalo)'s the team to beat," Brind'Amour said. "We knew coming in that was the best team out there. Everyone was talking about Ottawa, but we knew that Buffalo was. We thought they would win that series, maybe not as easily as they did, but we predicted them to win and it's going to be a heck of a matchup -- a lot tougher than what we've faced until now." http://www.nhl.com/cupcrazy/2006/daily051506.html

It's just not smart to do anything to provide BB fodder. He'd have said something complimentary about then if they'd won. I kind of reminds me of Bellichek or Gruden saying they're just lucky to be on the same as the Bills...
Bmwolf21
I think Lou Holtz is the best ever at over-hyping his opponents - when ND was heavily favored over anyone, he would make it sound like they were playing the NFL All-Pro team...
BRH
Brind'Amour is smart. He knows the Sabres feed off being disrespected. Philly and especially Ottawa didn't think it would matter. They thought wrong.
