  1. It was the right take at the time. After the second, they were talking about how the Sabres HAD learned to play defenseā€¦ How the Sabres were taking away all of the time and space the Bā€™s were accustomed to having this year.
  2. The belly laughs were annoying. I get they were doing it when something awesome (whether it was a Bruin or Sabre making the play), but it was too muchā€¦ They definitely like Dahlinā€™s game.
  3. I live in Boston, so I had to watch the Boston feed. (While at one of my kids hockey games in Worcester.) It was entertaining. They definitely went into the game respectful, and said Buffalo is on the verge of a very strong 6-7 year run.
  4. Hey there @Eleven! Hope all is well with you! Wish I could still hang around here like I used to, but with 5 boys playing hockeyā€¦ The twins will be seniors this fall ā€¦I see more hockey than I ever did.
  5. I donā€™t know if heā€™s salvageable, but Middelstadt, Cozens, and Thompson kinda reminds me of a Roy, Vanek and Max type 3rd line from 15 years ago. Lots of skill playing protected minutes... Top 2 lines look better than the 05-06 top 6 (Brierre/Connelly, pomminvile, and Dumont; Drury, Hecht, and Grier)... The 4th line seems stronger too, though I canā€™t remember who played with Mair atm... The current defense seems far better than the 05-06 roster, too. Goalie is the weakness with this team.
  6. The midgets are twins... they have been on the same team most years, but not all. One was most skilled and the other was toward the bottom skill size when they were. The best part of midgets is that one of them landed a girlfriend with a license (theyā€™ll be 16 next April) who likes taking them to practices. šŸ˜†
  7. Ullmarkā€™s inability to hug a post is just maddening.
  8. Thanks, Taro! I miss being able to spend time on here... I have 4 kids (2 midgets, a squirt and a mite) playing. Between them and work, about all I get is what is covered on WGR when Iā€™m driving... which ainā€™t nearly as often as it used to be.
  9. So all these goalies have moved... and we still donā€™t seem to have an answer in goal. I generally try to be more of a glass half full poster, but... itā€™s been a long time since weā€™ve had competent goaltending.
  10. Iā€™ve got 4 kids on 3 different teams at this point. But if they are actually good, there might even be mini Knightriders that might join. That was impressive. And no, I did not go so far as to say he was good. ?
  11. Sobotka has been better than I would have expected...
  12. First Sabre game I've be going to in many years... My kids are pumped!
  13. Last time I spent this much time here, I had 2 boys. Now Iā€™m up to 5. Whereā€™s Corp? BTW, now I get why Tage didnā€™t get sent down.
  14. They should stream that in the arena after a win.
  15. Yep, although I donā€™t think we were terribly confident about Marty in December. However, they team clicked with him filling in. Man it feels good to be excited about the Sabres again!
  16. That 05-06 team got hammered by the Senators at about this point in November. TB, the jets, or the Wild should have been that game. This team has much more upside. Lol, I looked it up. It was 11/12/05.
  17. It is great to see Sabres hockey be entertaining again! Itā€™s been a long time since I have posted. The wait for a competitive team seems like itā€™s finally over!
  18. All I know is this is far more fun this year. My kids love it!
  19. This. At first glance, I was thinking there is no need to change the rules... just enforce them. By swallowing the whistles. they are still influencing the game... and it isn't in a good way. Maybe I've been watching too many squirt and peewee playoff games, but I find the them a whole lot more entertaining than the NHL playoffs this year.
  20. I've heard from both the Buffalo and Boston media, that he wanted to play against McDavid in the OHL, but his rights were in the Q... Given those options, he stayed local.
  21. There might be Suffering. That was an Understatement. McEichel ends it.
  22. I tend to think 95-96 is more what the target is... Absolutely no fun to play against, but still not winning very often. Maybe that's my target. Regardless, my 9 year olds absolutely love watching the GEM line. Given that I am in Boston (one of their squirt teammates grandfather played for the Bruins back in the 60s), I'm glad to see a little light at the end of the tunnel.
