dEnnis the Menace Posted December 30, 2011 Report Share Posted December 30, 2011 So, I saw GoDD mention that today was the 25th anniversary of the Swift Current Broncos bus crash, and honestly, I had no idea what he was talking about. For some of us younger folks, who didn't follow anything but the Sabres, THIS might help. It's an ESPN article written at the time of the 20th anniversary of the crash. And for those that don't want to read it, to summarize: 25 years ago today, a bus carrying the Swift Current Broncos Major Junior team to a game crashed, killing 4 players, one of them being Lindy Ruff's brother, Brent Ruff. The article above also points out some other fallout after the crash, that is not actually related to the crash, but related to the team and its image down the road.
