March 13, 1988

In Vancouver, Ray Sheppard scores a hat trick against goalie Steve Weeks as the Sabres beat the Canucks, 7-5.

 

March 13, 2001

The Sabres acquire "rental players" Donald Audette from Atlanta for Kamil Piros and a fourth-round pick in 2001 and Steve Heinze from Columbus for a third-round pick in 2001. The pair does not return for the 2001-2002 season.

Based on the picks he made in 2001, he should have kept the pick...

What are you driving at, Knight?

 

The Sabres ended up with three second-rounders in 2001, one coming from Tampa along with Chris Gratton in 2000. Not sure how we ended up with the other one. But we got Derek Roy and Jason Pominville in the second round, so that was certainly a nice draft. Do you think we should have kept those other picks?

So far, that draft looks like one of the nicest we've had in a long time. He was on a roll that day... ;)
