Still not as good as Matthews
Matthews parted Lake Ontario I hear

I'm very surprised at the empty seats at KBC for Notre Dame - Princeton. I thought Notre Dame would have that place packed.
Really is a true sign on how far College Basketball's popularity has fallen because of the one and done rule

March Sadness. The time of year everyone is now an expert, and people only care because they have 43 brackets filled out. Come Sunday nobody really cares.
-
4-2 Kings. Another lifeless night for the Sabres in California.

...although to be fair, 20 miles in L.A. is like 160 miles anywhere else, amirite?
Meh. Beat me to it.
Pretty much haha

I live 20 miles from the Staples Center and I'm passing. That's how blah I am about this franchise in its current state.

Speaks volumes to how untradeable some of this roster really is.

Initial Guide to the 2017 Off-Season:
Step 1: See if a trade can be worked out for Tony Romo.
Step 1a: if Tony Romo comes to Buffalo, let Tyrod go, and draft a QB to groom along with Cardale Jones
Step 1b: If a Tony Romo trade cannot be worked out, pickup Tyrod's option and sign a vet QB like Josh McCown to be a serviceable backup with an eye to draft a QB in 2018.
Step 2: Let Stephon Gilmore leave: It just appears on the surface SG does not really want to be in Buffalo: That $ can be used for better corners to better fit McDermott's system. Maybe even 2.
-
I also view booing the Sabres as a compliment to the team: Booing sometimes means fans think you can be so much better and as a team you are underachieving.
-
I'd move Eichel for Scheifle, Trouba and Byfuglien.
I would too.
On NHL 17 for X-Box or PlayStation 4

I think the questions that are on everyone's mind are, is Bob Corkum available, and how soon can he be on a plane?

It sounds closer than it is. I don't have the numbers handy, but the Sabres are at the point where they have to start winning something like 2 of every 3 games for the rest of the season to get to the mid-90s in points, where 8th usually falls. I have no reason to believe they're going to start winning at that pace for 2 months. I'm pretty sure they're not even going to go out and win at that pace for the next 2 weeks.
I'm not saying fire sale, but if a good deal comes along to get a solid prospect for one of our older players, I'd be listening.
Agreed and considering the Sabres have to climb 5 teams and combat the challenge of teams getting 1 point for losses and shootouts, it's time for GMTM to sell.

This is a dark day for the Sabres

The Sharks hired Peter DeBoer. Two bullets dodged there.
+1!

#16: San Jose is 1-15 lifetime at Buffalo.

I'm over Mcdavid, oilers can have him. Eichel is the truth!
I agree. McDavid is so tempting though but the cost would be astronomical. Plus NO way a team from Canada trades its new prodigal hockey son. If this were Arizona I would say there would be a better chance.
-
To get Connor McDavid I believe the Sabres would have to deal the 2nd overall pick in 2015, the 21st overall pick in 2015, their 1st round pick in 2016 and assets. And that is just to stay on the phone.
-
That would imply the Erie Otters had any say where he would be going, and they don't. It would also imply the league cares about the financial well-being of an OHL team, which they don't.
I hear you. I just couldn't help myself :P

Sorry if this was posted already but...
Was Connor McDavid an out of court settlement???
:o :o

Anyone but Boston. Literally, ANY ONE but Boston. That is the only way the night is a nightmare for me.
I say anyone but Boston, Toronto, or Philly
-
I would be leery on Cam Talbot: He might be more of a product of the talent around him in NY then anything, seems that a lot of goalies can plug and play in NY right now.
-
Toronto is given the lottery by Bettman and gets McDavid: Sabres draft Jack Eichel.
Luke Richardson is named Head Coach of the Buffalo Sabres.
Sabres sign Antti Niemi to a 3 year contract.
Sabres sign Mike Green to a 5 year contract.
-
Last night I had a nightmare and it was terrifying. I think I saw the Devil Himself. I think it may have been Battista. I mean no one knows what he looks like. Is Battista Satan? You tell me?
Maybe it was Miroslav
-
How many takes do you suppose they'll have to do until they pick Toronto?

I think those who say DB knows he is on his way out because he made this move are not seeing it properly: Why would DB, if knowing he is going to be fired and wants another coaching gig, pull a stunt like this considering the negative backlash he probably knew it would create? I would think DB would want to keep a lower profile, exit with class, and keep his reputation in check at least from the 'he won a SC' angle.
I think this move to bench Samson means DB is safe next year and he wants to send a clear message that the culture needs to change.
It's the same old song and dance every season from so many hockey fans: Coach this and coach that. I get coaching helps, but perhaps, maybe just perhaps, the Sabres are not as talented as we all think they are?
Sabres were so unlucky the first two months with injuries: Relatively good health and we have 8-10 more points, in the playoff race, and there is ZERO talk of removing DB.
