RIP, Jeff Beck. (6/24/44-1/10/23)

A friend and I were sitting in the reds at the Aud on one of the end scoreboards. It was 1985 or 86. A lady in the row behind us was shouting out Philip-this and Philip-that, but I never made the connection. At one point in the game, my friend yelled at Housley to hit one of the opposing players with his purse. That lady tore into us. It was Phil's mom.

After years of Dahlin being targeted and not having the muscle mass or experience to respond, I love that he's dishing it out and I hope that he continues to do so. He's setting the example for the rest of the team to follow.

I'm glad that Joker's back. I also welcome another look at Asplund and Vinnie. Quinn and JJP will benefit from the perspective that comes with taking a step back for a bit. They were so good a few games back that I kept forgetting their rookie status. Bryson is addition by subtraction, to be honest. We'll see what Comrie brings against a fairly potent offense. DG should have them ready. LFG!

There are legends and then there are LEGENDS. Johnny Cash naturally fell into the latter category.

The Montreal Canadiens in the 1976 Final was the first example that came to mind.

The effort for much of tonight is reminiscent of the dumpster fire days, for sure.

Overall, the effort simply isn't there tonight. Even the offensive chances we are creating have no fluidity to them.
