  1. 3-0 Canes now halfway through the second. If we can win tonight it's huge
  2. Boy do we have a tough schedule coming up after the Sharks. The whole rest of the season looks tough. If we get in I'll be very impressed
  3. I think a win against the Sharks is a true must win for any chance at the playoffs this year. Our schedule after that is Leafs, Lightning, Panthers, Capitals. And that stretch will determine if we're a playoff team this year or percolating another year. It would be tough for any team in the league playing that schedule, but that's the challenge.
  4. Still have the Penguins game later - go Sharks!
  5. Win and we pass the Penguins and are in the last wild card spot for the playoffs.
  6. His slump is season long - the Canucks clearly have not been in a rush to put him back in the net because he's been outplayed by the "backups". This years stats (not last years or any previous year): GP 15 W3 L10 GAA 3.93 SV% .883 And we're considering trading our up and coming goaltender for this hot mess? I'll also mention the losses have predominantly been on him, not as much the team around him. He's really let the Canucks down this season, which is why they want him moved.
  7. He's been contributing to the disfunction, not a victim of it. Living in Van we see all their games. He's completely lost it. And he's been injured a lot. Buyer beware.
  8. As a Vancouver resident I can tell you Demko has been awful this year, fallen right off a cliff. I wouldn't even make the phone call.
  9. What could possibly be troubling about Cozens getting on the ice?
  10. So today, if we win and the Penguins lose to the Sharks in regulation, guess where we're sittin'?
  11. Not sure if it was mentioned earlier, but post-game Granato said Cozens is fine, and if there would have been more time on the clock would probably have gone back in the game.
  12. Is there a way to get Meier that makes sense for the Sabres? He's a pending RFA that seems pretty pricey, despite our current manageable cap situation. "The 26-year-old has a cap hit of $6 million this season, but due to receiving $9 million in salary, his qualifying offer is set at double digits this summer." It seems to be antithetical to GMKA's philosophy up to this point. What would it take, and would it be worth it? https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/buffalo-sabres-among-teams-to-contact-san-jose-sharks-on-pending-rfa-timo-meier-1.1910847
  13. Their original unis are among the best in hockey, yet they've basically turned their back on them for years, except for the occasional use of the blue ones. Weird.
  14. The win doesn't matter, because some of the posters have already decided the Sabres aren't making the playoffs this year. Despite now being 3 measly points out with 36 games left in the regular season.
  15. I was 9 years old in 1973, growing up in small town Saskatchewan. I was already a dedicated Hab-hater, so when the Sabres made the playoffs for the first time I was cheering for them to knock of the favoured Canadiens. They didn't, but it was an exciting series, very impressionable on my young self. So they became my team, and I haven't wavered since. It was very common for Sask folks to cheer for a variety of team as we didn't have our own team, we were where NHL players came from 😉 The Sabres of course had exciting and successful teams in those early 70's years, and there were many dedicated Sabres and Flyers fans that came about from both teams mid-70's successes. My only Sabre jersey is my beloved #7 Martin. edit - I just realized this will be my 50th year cheering for the boys in blue and gold. Jeezus I'm getting up there
  16. They're going to be quiet tonight since Peterka and Quinn are sitting in the press box
  17. Canucks chase the Pens goalie out of the net with a 3 nothing lead seven minutes in. We have an opportunity tonight to get close to that wildcard spot. Come on boys!
