@SabresProspects 2013 draft set for June 30. I seem to be in minority here, but I love that all seven rounds will take place on one day. #oldschool

@TheFourthPeriod Gomez will NOT be playing in the AHL this season; he will not be playing anywhere until his contract is bought out this summer. Just like the Rangers with Wade Redden. @TheFourthPeriod Gomez camp very disappointed and upset. Scott was told he was attending camp. Gomez's full cap hit will count against MTL's cap this season

http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/49216-Lindholms-draft-stock-rises.html Mikhail Grigorenko, C – Quebec Remparts (QMJHL) Rumors that Grigorenko is older than he claims are still rumors, but there’s no debating that he was a man among boys during the world juniors. The big, skilled pivot was a constant threat for the Russians even when some of the other offensive cogs weren’t firing. With the lockout over, he’ll now have a shot to make the Sabres. Drafted 12th overall by Buffalo in 2012.

The Hockey News: Final thoughts on 2013 WJC: http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/49243-Final-thoughts-on-2013-WJC.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=thn_daily_20130111 The most disappointing team at the WJC came from Finland, where a stacked lineup sputtered in the round robin and had to settle for routing teams in the relegation round instead of playing for a medal. After the Finns' final game, coach Harri Lindell revealed that a stomach flu had gone through the team, while also admitting that he had trouble finding the right linemates for emerging superstar Sasha Barkov. The 2013 prospect never had the same two wingers twice at the tourney, though he did have success when paired with Buffalo Sabres first-rounder Joel Armia. Finally, with an eye on the little guy, it was too bad to see Latvia relegated when their best player, Buffalo Sabres first-rounder Zemgus Girgensons, was kept in the American League for duty with the Rochester Americans

Glad to hear that if Grigorenko can cut it he'll stay and the ELC consideration will not be a factor. -

@SabresProspects Sabres tabbed Grigorenko over summer on short list of CHLers they'd like to recall if work stoppage ended. Will get chance to make team. @pham1717 Ennis says his shoulder is 100% and he's totally ready to go

@TSNBobMcKenzie Two things to keep in mind: 1. Many RUS stars publicly stated earlier this season they might stay the entire the year in the KHL. @TSNBobMcKenzie In last 24 hours, multiple sources told me NHL teams would do well to have roll call because it's possible a RUS player or two may not show. @TSNBobMcKenzie Just a low rumble for now, but there are whispers KHL teams may be offering "inducements" to get RUS stars to stay and not return to NHL. Thought the KHL-NHL had an agreement to honor contracts from each respective league.
