  1. Seems like it's never Slats' fault: @drosennhl NYR GM Glen Sather is addressing the media through a conference call in 10 minutes. More to come.

  7. Avalanche talking about trading No. 1 pick: http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/blog/eye-on-hockey/22314886/avalanche-talking-about-trading-no-1-pick I would be shocked if they actually make the move.
  8. Seems like quite a full plate even with his Stanley Cup pedigree and QMJHL success as an owner, GM, and coach.
  9. @RenLavoieRDS 4 year contract + one year option for Patrick Roy. Patrick Roy said he would have accept the job even if he did not get the VP of Hockey Operations title. Patrick Roy we'll be the one talking trades with other GMs. Patrick Roy accepted a non guaranteed contract with the Avalanche. He won't be paid if he's fired.
  10. Haven't I seen this question elsewhere?
  11. No more little guys not named MacKinnon or Drouin.
  12. Agree with you on the Jagr vs. Iggy point, but Chiarelli has to say that. On the other point, organizational symbolism is never meaningless IMO.
  13. Whatever you say Peter: @jessespector Chiarelli says he always thought the Bruins would have to go through the Penguins and would have been happy with either Iginla or Jagr.
  14. The observation was made as a juxtaposition of the mindset that runs through both the Bruins and Sabres organizations that is ultimately reflected in the on ice product.
  15. He could very well help Varlamov maximize his potential to become a solid #1.
  16. Too intense for players these days?
  17. The Championship Game is set for tonight with #1 Halifax vs. #2 Portland. The game will be shown live on NHL Network at 7 PM Eastern.
  18. When the Bruins win a game, their player of the game wears an Army Ranger Jacket. When the Sabres win a game their player of the game wears a Faux Fur Coat. Might be a small thing, but to me it makes an underlying statement about organizational mindset.
  19. Love it!
  20. Wonder if they can manage to keep Tippett too: @SNHockeyCentral Coyotes announce long-term contract extension for General Manager Don Maloney.
  21. @EyeOnHockey Did the Dallas Stars accidentally leak their new logo Thursday night? Sure looks like it. http://cbsprt.co/1afiFKk
  22. Seems like quite a bit of responsibility for one person in an organ-eye-zation.
  23. Thanks for the link, but I'm not sure I buy what Holmgren is selling. Guess we'll see. Shame the Flyers gave up on Bobrovsky too soon.
  24. News to me if true. I know the Flyers are not happy with his uneven play given the high cost of his deal.
