My guess is it’s partially due to the Canada/American divide, partially due to most people not really wanting to hear about it, and partially an almost numbing effect from the sudden frequency they’ve been coming out as of late.

To me this 03’ one is a tad absurd; the crime is awful but it happened 19 years ago and seemingly only came out of the woodwork due to the other cases. Why now exactly?

Part of me wants justice, and another part of me just sees this as a mud-raking affair against hockey Canada. To which I fear the eventual reaction will turn Hockey Canada into the most over the top “Woke” sport organization where trash talk is banned, they actively inundate us with Women’s hockey news like how ESPN obsesses over the WNBA and coaches are essentially forced to coddle players regardless of circumstances because yelling at any of them may offend or hurt someone’s feelings. Sometimes people need a figurative kick in the ass to become a good player. Hockey Canada like USA Hockey should in part be looking to bring the best out of players and draw upon competition to perfect it. Not tell everyone that playing hard is mean to your opponent and you should ease up to not hurt their feelings.

    Rant over.

I guess in the end I don’t want this onslaught of sexual allegations to effect hockey like it has in most sectors. Instead of reforming and striking out the misbehaviors; they wildly overcompensate and try to “womanize” or worse water everything down to critique equals sexism and competition is wrong. (The Video game and YouTube media industry has been plagued by this and the usual response is to either kill everything or fundamentally change everything regardless of its involvement in the problem to begin with)

so the 03 one is coming to light cause the players filmed it with a camera and then just left the tape in the camera. The guy who owned camera wasn’t part of the assault and watched it later. The players told him to delete it but he apparently just kept it and is now giving it to the police. This girl may not even know what happened as she apparently was just passed out on a pool table.

Tampa not being on the list isn't a surprise.  With so many NMCs that team would tear itself apart to fit him.  Can't see them being interested at this point.  After the cap goes up in 2 or 3 years, sure, but right now it'd be tough & they've been in 3 consecutive finals.  They like their group IMHO.

    Is the answer Eichel?  😉

Did his ntc transfer? Cause if he waived it once it voids it unless the new team agrees to put it back in there.

Wonder what sort of cap gymnastics the Swamp Cats would have to jump through to add him to their mix.  Hopefully too many.  Prefer to keep him out west.

They're already over the cap.  I'd imagine Reinhart would be included. I think Nashville is the favorite out of that list. They have the cap space and some piees that are easy to move

And that's too much.  That's more than the Sabres got for Reinhart and O'Reilly (once the two guys quit) and almost as much as what the Sabres got for Eichel.  Nope.  I'll wait another year instead.

If it’s a sign and trade I’d be more ok. Imagine him on a wing with cozens?

Honestly, as someone completely on the fence about Adams, I can see this.

Matt T would be a decent pickup but I don't want them selling the farm for him.

Portillo and one of the Cs from this draft maybe?  Or a pick?

Also, why is everyone fleeing Calgary?

It would certainly be a first a top prospect and an nhl ready guy. If we could do portillo, mitts and a first i'd be all in but likely they'd want peterka or quinn.

It may not be what you want and it may not be what he wants, but it'd be perfect to turn this team into an actual contender. Imagine him going up against Toronto star power with maybe a little grudge or matching Tkachuk in Ottawa and Marchand in Boston.

Imagine a starting team that looked like this:

    Skinner-Thompson-Tuch

    Olofsson-Kadri-Cozens

    Krebs-Mittlestadt-Quinn

    Asplund-Girgensens-Okposo

    Dahlin-Klingberg

    Power-Jokiharju

    Samuelsson-Lybushkin

    Just sayin'.

Kadri hadn't hit more than 19 goals in 4 seasons and has an absolute career year in his contract year. He's gonna go right back to his normal point totals.
