So I've seen talk about how Kane made Debrincat and he can't reproduce that in Ottawa. Well wouldn't we want similar result from say Cozens? What if he can turn Cozens into a ppg type player for the next couple seasons and accelerate his growth? Would have two legit top lines in the entire league. Olofson, a first and maybe Portillo or Peterka? Quinn is untouchable to me. Sign Kane to 3 year extension.

Goalies take forever to develop and usually are nhl ready around age 24 or so. 6-7 years this kid is gonna bounce around

Getting Kane would be fantastic. Throw him on the line with Cozens at center and Krebs on the other side and we have two legit top lines. It would cost more than a first since there would be a lot of teams lining up to get him. Guy just came off a 90 point season.

He hasn't put up decent numbers in years. Curious choice by him to be that picky on where he goes. Contract wise two years left would have been nice for us. Good thing Adams realizes we have a need there.

There is a difference between a contender and being competitive. Only a few teams are contenders but quite a few are competitive and I think we could fall in there with a legit goalie and adding Power along with another piece or two in the bottom six.

Everyone wants to sign with a contender but that's not as easy as you think since there is a cap. The contenders have little cap space.

I've never been a fan of Mitts. Would love to have the vision of the future if Cozens can be the second line guy. Teams don't exacty get rid of 1st or second line centers. Kadri is the king of contract year seasons so unless he wants a 1-2 year deal i wouldnt touch him, Trocheck is ok after that it could be Malkin for a year but would he want to come here?

There have been enough incidents such that the problem is almost certainly him, not the people he hangs out with. For that matter, I'm not aware of any reports of bad behavior by his friends that has dragged him down.
I don't dispute that he's a talented hockey player.
His ex wife had an abortion and then wore a pregnancy fat suit to keep the appearance of a pregnancy in order to extort money from him. This along with fake allegations that he bet on games and abused her.

Yes, that's why he is in bankruptcy cause they're suing him for the debts. My point is the only thing he is actually guilty of would be the covid card and travelling across the border. He is a very talented hockey player but his personal circle is a nightmare for him and he needs to cut some ties.

The off ice issues were his ex wife making stuff up about him right? Then it was the fake vax card which he served the suspension and got the vax. So now that he's vaxxed the off ice stuff is resolved as long as he stays away from the ex. The team should hire a life coach or personal manager to teach him how to properly be an adult. Like Britney Spears he needs someone to control the money and literally everything until he can get his head straight.

Nigel Dawes has played there for a decade and has done pretty well for himself. I think he had a banana thrown at him years back and the KHL condemned it. You'll find that crap everywhere but if Kane goes there and performs he can make some serious coin.

I've heard some things but not sure of the article you're speaking of. I don't understand how a guy bought the team out of bankruptcy, team continued to lose money and then sold it to the current guy for double the price like 2 years later or something. Just hilarious

If it's an unprotected 1st I could be tempted. Read an article that basically his entire core has to be rehabbed and he's just starting to ramp up the training. Likely on IR to start the season. If it causes his retirement he just becomes one of those trades to teams for the cap floor. That first could be very valuable but I'd think they want to see how Ellis injury progesses. As for taking JVR the guy can put up some points but he plays no defense so he's essentially a lesser talented Skinner.
