There won’t be a “next Briere and Drury”. Those were great times in Buffalo. That’s when I became a fan. First game I ever went to was their last game as Sabres. Game 5 against Ottowa. Drury got hit in the face with a puck. If only we knew then what we know now...

He’s not allowed to fire Ralph. The Pegulas aren’t going to fire him for not firing Krueger. If they wanted him gone it would have been done last week

NONE of them are actually good at it.
Over the last many years, the league has gone from lots of fighters to few fighters; then for a while you had to be a good fighter but also a pretty decent hockey player to see a roster. That was sort of the Adam Mair type players. The hybrids.
Now they're pretty much all gone too.
This is why when teams actually get pissed off at each other and pair up, *nothing* happens! LOL! The people to do something about it just aren't on the ice anymore.
It was no different in the '80s, if the wrong guys were caught on the ice at the wrong time.
The difference being that the mistake could be corrected next shift or whenever the coach wanted to do it...the personnel was on the bench, somewhere.
Now it's just gone for the most part.
Not all teams are as soft as the Sabres right now, however.
The Sabres are softer than 2 ply toilet paper. I know it’s a different time but there are still legitimate tough guys in the league. We don’t have any. It’s been going on for years. Eichel or Skinner or Dahlin will take a dirty hit and nobody steps up. Miller did last night and it was great. He’s not a tough guy though. The closest player we’ve had in recent memory was probably Evander Kane. I remember when a beat the same dude up 3 times in one game

We have nobody on the roster that can send that message. It’s been one the glaring issues with this team for years

There’s not even a player to tank for this year. They’re just really bad at hockey. I’ve never seen a coach in any professional sport coach so much talent out of his players. He’s the worst coach in the history of the team

At this point, thanks but no thanks. I’ll put that money towards my Bills tickets. How weird is it that the Bills are contenders and the Sabres are the punching bag of the league? It’s been a long time, if ever, since that’s been the case

The best thing about them being so terrible is now I can save myself 70 bucks a month by not continuing my FuboTV subscription. Literally the only reason I had it was for sabres games. Now I can buy drugs instead for my depression
