  1. US News …

Initial indications from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency were that incident was caused by a reckless driver whose actions resulted in a crash and fire, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

While CBP officials were not ruling out a deliberate attack, preliminary evidence did not suggest that, they said.

Canadian broadcaster CTV News, citing unnamed national security sources, reported that government officials were operating under the assumption that the vehicle blast was terror-related.

Reuters was unable to immediately verify these reports.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center said it evaluated and treated a single patient with non-life-threatening injuries related to the incident. That patient was later discharged, the hospital said.

Official details of the incident were murky.

The Niagara Gazette newspaper, citing law enforcement sources, said the car sped onto the bridge plaza, went through a fence separating the inbound lanes from the outbound lanes, and toward the inspection lanes, where it exploded.

CNN, citing unnamed sources, said the car was coming from the Canadian side toward the U.S.

  2. From ABC news …

Investigators have found some sort of suitcase or briefcase on scene, sources told ABC News. They are treating it as a possible explosive device as a precaution and the bomb squad is handling the package.

Ron Rienas, GM of the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, told ABC News all four Canada-U.S. bridges over the Niagara River have been closed out of an abundance of caution while the Rainbow Bridge investigation continues.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said, "At my direction, the New York State Police is actively working with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force to monitor all points of entry to New York. I am traveling to Buffalo to meet with law enforcement and emergency responders and will update New Yorkers when more information becomes available."

    Side note:

Airport is relaxing tightened security and traffic moving along better at the airport.

    Peace Bridge is opening now

  3. Multiple federal agencies are now backtracking what they originally said and released to the press. And multiple press sources were repeating and confirming the reports just two hours ago.

Now the latest is a car tried turning around after going through the inspection booth and lost control as they did a U-turn and crashed into a booth or building there and caught on fire.

The back tracking is delicious… This is getting interesting lol

Lisit seems the car was originating from Niagara Falls NY, not coming from Canada.  be careful posting what you see on Twitter.  Bunch of Right Wing Conspiracy Theorists want you to be scared before all the facts are known.

I don’t do Twitter. has nothing to do with right wing conspiracies or left wing conspiracies. But thank you for your concern.

  5. Posters can get mad all they want … but these are the EARLY PRELIMINARY reports …

Suspicious vehicle was asked to pull over in a secondary inspection area. The car moved and blew up. Suspected car bomb.

Possibility another car got through checkpoint.

Two people inside the car are dead. One border agent is injured. One pedestrian is injured.

International flights to and from the Buffalo Niagara airport are suspended currently.

Early reports are, other bombs were discovered at other border bridges in the Western New York area.

All bridges in the Western New York area to and from Canada are currently closed.

Some of these may turn out to not be true… That’s why I stress again… Again… These are early preliminary reports.
