That means win more puck battles, be stronger on the stick, play with head up and don’t panic. They have too many guys that panic and toss the puck around like a hot potato. Puck Possession means the other team can’t score. A problem with Lindy, and my list is growing, is they lay back to start the period. They put pressure on UPL for the entire 3rd period.

The fight was a show to the league that we are a serious team. 😂 The 3rd period is the way Lindy wants to play. Rarely are two guys deep in the offensive zone, most of the shots are harmless, they back up into the neutral zone, than back into their zone, then back up around the goalie. Then they fail to clear pucks, miss breakout opportunities, and ice the puck constantly. After numerous lost defensive zone face offs they break down. They are among the worst in 3rd period scoring in the league, and they have blown the lead more times than any other team. Lindy is teaching them how to “grind” (his words).
-
Why would UPL do that? Why do you think players get involved in those type of transactions?
-
Look at who they were missing.

I give a lot of credit to Reimer and Tuch tonight. Columbus missing about 5 key players was a good break. The third period passive play is a strategy I guess. It’s not sustainable.
-
If this is Lindy’s idea of 3rd period hockey I’ve seen enough. No effort to even score a 4th goal. Backing up and waiting. This is bad hockey.
-
The shots are 6-1 for Columbus this period. The Lindy Alamo …
-
The Jackets gave them the goal. Everyone knows the curse of the two goal lead. Dan and Rob will certainly bring it up if CBJ gets the next goal.

6’1” and 185 lbs. He needs more strength, which translates to more weight. Hit the gym kid.

Did you call Cozens a star?

Tuch ah-gain

Well deserved Gilbert.

Two years ago the Sabres were the team on the rise and CBJ was terrible. Today they are in the 8th spot and the Sabres are terrible. It would be interesting to compare the moves of the two teams.

Can this Meghan lady replace Duffer? We need diversity in the broadcast.

I just read that Muel is on IR, not a healthy scratch technically.
-
I thought he was an RFA and will be a UFA in 2027. I could be wrong. Either way, an RFA or UFA can be traded at the deadline, the risk is that the acquiring team might only get a rental.
-
Yes. We traded Mitts last year.

Byram making his case for a deadline trade.

The acne cleared and a beard is coming in.

Lots of them. John Scott for sure. DesLauriers. Carrier. But Gilbert did ok. Olivier is the best fighter in the league right now. He just destroyed Rempe.
-
Worse. Gilbert was sitting on the bench the entire 3rd period against the Devils. He could have “responded” and ended this torture. Oh yeah, they needed the 2points.
-
Reimer in net usually means the team stops scoring. No Tage but CBJ had injuries too. Lindy stages a fight. Busch league. 48 hours late Lindy, and for no reason. More fodder for the rest of the league to laugh at.

From Lucic to Noesen - The Sabre lack of backbone exposed again

I watched the Spittin' Chicklets videos and a few others that came up in the related search. The whole league is trashing the Sabres. -

I agree on Muel. He just does not play like someone who cares and he was like that before Lindy got here. I wonder who decided he gets an A? Coaches, Adams, Players? What a poor selection. Muel looked like he was in agony in the post game interview. So, it seems he was called out in the team meeting and he is now a healthy scratch. Watching the video, Noesen was under the control of an official. But Siegenthaler was there to keep anyone away and goading Samuelsson into engaging with him, he even shoved his stick at him, and Muel wanted no part. Very sad to see this as we thought he showed a lot of promise in those first 57 games. Zucker, he seemed to be parroting his coach during his interview, he focused on the 2 points. It is hard for me to understand were he is really coming from and if he really believes that. -
I'm awake. It appears your terse response is telling me you blame the players? On the surface that is a pretty easy conclusion but looking at a macro level I disagree with it. Over the years the players are the only thing that has come out of the organization that is good. Look at all the good players in the league that came up as a Sabre. You can make an ALL Star team out of former Sabres. I believe there are still many good players on this roster. I blame Ownership and the Front Office above all else. If you ask me if I prefer to keep the players or the coaches, that is easy, I'll keep the players. The roster is not good enough but moving some of the current players and some of the prospects to add what they need is very doable for the right GM. A complete rebuild is not needed, the last rebuild has not been finished yet. This current coaching staff with Lindy and Granato's holdovers have done a very poor job by any measure. This season the team is worse than last. They were supposed to learn accountability under Lindy. The lesson - accountability is worth less than two points. There is the age old adage in sports that you can't fire all the players, so you fire the coach. Lindy didn't create the mess but he isn't showing he can fix it either. Is this a strong Sabres roster? No. Are there some good players on the current roster? Absolutely yes. I have no doubt at all that many of the players on this team can go somewhere else and have good or even great careers. Conversely I have serious doubts that Appert, Wilford, Ellis and whoever else they have will ever become a successful NHL HC.
