Why are these ESPN guys so surprised that Finland is playing well? It’s a crazy message to think they wouldn’t, especially since they have a defense first hockey culture. These are All Star teams with 3 days of practice.

Overall Sweden got better as the game went on and they forced an OT. I didn’t see it but Hamilton implied that Karlsson was a liability on defense. I can go with the thought that Forsling is the best of that bunch right now, he is 28 and in his prime, Dahlin is still only 24. I would not trade Dahlin for any of the Swede defensemen straight up.

Game 1 of an All Star team, the coaches are figuring it out. Listening to Hamilton and Marty I get the opposite feel on Dahlin. He played well but they played him on the 3rd pair. They played Karlsson more and he was the cause for 2 goals, including the game winner. Karlsson is a poor defensive defenseman and they paid for that decision.

He is still moved to wing playing with Kulich. I think Ruff likes him at wing and so do I. He should also be a wing on USA if circumstances were right and he made the team. As it stands, the USA team has 4 nice lines with some good checkers to balance and compliment the scorers.

I think Tage could have, and should have, been selected for the US Team. He is s PPG player and tied for 9th in the league in goals, despite playing on a really bad team. Anyone know why he was overlooked?

The BN had something about Vegas being interested in Alex Tuch. Hope Adams does not bite on more picks and prospects. Our top 6 needs more vets, not less.

Adams likes him, paid him, and he wants to right about him. So Cozens gets an "A" and he gets every opportunity. He perceived ceiling and his size make him a player that gets preferential treatment. I don't think Adams will trade him until he feels 100% certain he was wrong about him. I was a big fan of Cozens too, and I want Adams to be right. Where I differ is I would be playing him as a 3rd line winger in hopes that the rest of his game comes along. What really concerns me is if Ruff concedes to Adams as far as ice time and the utilization of Cozens (or any palyer).

From looking at the replays it appears they beat themselves. They played catchup all game, UPL was not sharp, Thompson appeared slow and off pace, the defense was leaky in front of their net, and then the unfortunate disallowed goal that happens to bad teams quite often I think Benson has had several goals overturned this season.

I am a little surprised at the anger here after this game. I mean, I just figured that most of the regulars know who this team is. I didn’t get to watch but the result does not surprise me at all. The Sabres were due to lose, and Nashville due to win. It happened. I never expected a veteran team to lose to Buffalo last night. The four game win streak was nice, but the Sabres are a bottom 5 team so I expect them to go back to their bottom 5 W/L pace. After the break the games will be more intense and mean something for most of our opponents. Keep your expectations for the rest of this season in check. BN rumor is that Greenway wants to come back. The Adams overpay is forthcoming.

The retool worked. Now, add a few players on defense, some speed and help at WR, and they are improved for next season There are players that want to come to Buffalo to play on the Bills and be part of a winning team. They have a shot next season.
