So at what point has he made enough money where that is no longer the driving issue and he just cares more about what’s happening in his life?

if I’ve already made $50 million at age 24, I’m getting close to being done with this song and dance and ready to move on with my life regardless of losing guaranteed future money. If that’s the only repercussion.

growing up, one of my neighbors was a the drummer from a famous 80's hairband. Basically what he did when his fame faded. he bought a smaller sized house, in a good neighborhood and basically retired. he had made enough money to never have to work again, as long as he didnt blow it on a silly sized mansion and ridiculous cars.  he drove a nicer car, but it wasnt like a ferrari or anything.

i would do the same if i had enough talent. make enough to be able to stop working and do the things i want to do, on my own time. could you imagine being able to retire at 25 and never having to worry about money again...

i am 44 and i have been working since i was 13, and full time since i was 17 (working multiple jobs to pay for school, etc). I look forward to the day i can finally retire and just relax. i can picture it now, buying a small house in the midwest overlooking the plains or maybe more west, where i can look at mountains. i could just picture sitting on a porch on a nice rocking chair looking out at that.

  2. its pretty sad that playing hard for 2 nights is a new thing for sabres fans to see.

for years it felt like generally they didnt go full out, maybe it was just me, but watching the sabres and watching other teams play, the sabres almost always felt like they were mailing it in (except the year that jack had an mvp type season, but even then, it felt like he was the only one)

I'm watching ESPN+ on my Roku stick.

I wasn't seeing pregame shows and was a little bummed about that.  But when I switched from the TO/MTL game to ANA/WPG game I did see the Ducks pregame.  The difference I think is that it's the local Anaheim feed.  So hopefully we can see the Sabres pre/post game shows too.

I didn't see any pre /post game stuff when watching the kraken games either. I liked watching that stuff

  4. You cant put a garbage team out there year after year and expect people to keep coming back. There is not even a glimmer of hope at this point

To be honest, i follow 2 teams, the sabers and the wild. i have completely moved on from the team and i follow the wild now and picked the kraken as my second team

I only come to this forum because I enjoy the discussions. i have no interest in following the sabres anymore.

Surprising you've had that issue.  Been w/ DTv for about 16 years & except for the occasional icing over of the dish  (~1 per 2 years) haven't had to make adjustments to the dish.  But since going to HD will lose signal on about 1/2 the channels for a few minutes when a major downpour begins.  That probably happens ~4x/yr.

We are in apartment so they mounted it in a pole on the deck. Im guessing the installer probably didn't do it right. Honestly, It was a miserable experience for us.

As much as I despise Spectrum, I’m not dropping them.  I don’t want a pizza pan on the side of my house/roof. I also don’t  want to jerk around with not having this channel or that channel(Sabres games!), screwing around with an antenna, streaming this or that and dealing with buffering, etc…

All in the name of saving $50-60 a month?  No thanks.

We had direct tv for 3 years with a satellite dish. Basically everytime the wind would blow more than a gentle breeze, i would need to adjust the dish.

When the contract was up we cancelled right away and the support was like you should have called us, we could send someone to help you. I told them i called so many times and they always told me to adjust it myself.  The dish was on our deck not the roof, so it wasnt dangerous, but really annoying going out there 2x per week to move it.

  7. The Sabres should only let jack choose if he waves the guarantee on his contract that if the surgery fails or causes him the inability to play anymore, then they dont pay him.

I get the whole my body my choice, i agree with it, but he cant hold his employer hostage anymore. He is getting more money each week than most people make in a year for him to basically sit out.

If he is so sure of his decision, give up the contract guarantee

  8. Coworker of mine has a child that is student teaching. He found out the primary teacher caught covid. The corworkers child had to get tested and was negative

I said to her that its pretty rare for vaccinate people to get it.

She told me he isnt vaxxed, nobody in their house is.  I find it nuts the schools are not requiring vaxx for the teachers

You highlighted my issue with FuboTV.

When I signed up for them a couple years back, it was only $30/month. Cool, I get the Sabres AND Bills games. I don’t watch TV, that’s all I watch, great deal.

Fast forward to today. They want $60/month. They no longer have the Bills games, and dont have all of the Sabres games. It’s just not worth it to me.

We will never get to see what goes on with the pricing negotiations between networks and providers. However, i believe (no proof, just believe) that the networks are trying to out price these companies so people will cancel and join their streaming services.

This is my wild conspiracy theory and is probably not accurate
