  1. Seriously? Anyone here tired of losing?

Yes, I am tired of losing. However, with this current roster, I do not see us making it far into the playoffs unless everything goes perfectly like it never does. His idea is decent. If we were to focus on the roster for 19-20 or 20-21, and trade all those for prospects from the first or second rounds, and getting an immense amount of talent down the road to be a cup contender. We already have our franchise player, now we just need the right surrounding cast.
  2. Anything to get Reinhart as 3rd center and "skate 3 lines" like in the Drury-Briere-Roy days

    Pouliot - Eichel - Okposo

    Girgs - ROR - Pominville

    Kane - Reinhart - Bailey

    Moulson - Larsson - Fasching

Heard Bailey as right shot can play left wing, could sub him instead of Girgs and get:

    Pouliot - Eichel - Okposo

    Bailey - ROR - Pominville

    Kane - Reinhart - Baptiste

    Girgs - Larsson - Fasching

I like the 1st one except for expecting 2 of the prospects to be ready right away.
  3. What I would like to see if we run three balanced lines:

    Girgensons Eichel Okposo

    Kane Reinhart Baptiste

    Pouliot O'Reilly Pominville

    Josefsson Larsson Fasching

Or if we run a traditional 1st/2nd/checking:

    O'Reilly Eichel Okposo

    Kane Reinhart Baptiste

    Pouliot Larsson Pominvile

    Girgensons Josefsson Fasching

Having O'Reilly as the 3rd line center is definitely intriguing. I think that I would like to see this happen as I see ROR as less dependent on his wingers being good, because he makes them better. Also, Pominville+ROR should get us a bunch of points. Also I like Kane with Reinhart.
  4. Liger, i've been put of town for a week and I have been given this more thought and I'll ask some questions in return.

    1) can a team with 3rd and 4th line centers of Larsson and Girgensons be truly considered a playoff contender?

    2) is LW depth of Kane, Pouliot, Moulson and unknown good enough for a playoff contending team?

The more I think about these two questions, the more the Sabres look like an 82-87 pt team. Improved, but not good enough.

    1) I believe that yes it is good enough. However, we could also move Reinhart to center, and send girgs to the LW. This would make the Lw/C stronger but weaken the RW

    2) As is I do not think the Lw is strong enough, but if we sign Vanek it could become manageable.

  5. What if it was something like:

    Kane-Eichel-Baptiste(if deemed ready)

    Nylander(if ready)-ROR-Okposo

    Pouliout-Reinhart-Pomminstein

    Girgensons-Larsson-Bailey

    Scandella-Risto

    McCabe-Antipin

    Baloo-Bogo

This is hoping that the young Guns step up a lot, and that we somehow get rid of Moulson.

Also with this, I like our 3rd line much better.

  6. Calgary needs a quality goalie, and we could use a D-Man.  Perfect fit.  Maybe take Lack off their hands.

I'm definitely for trading Lehner if we can get someone to bite. Lehner can be a solid goalie but is useless in a shootout. Unfortunately I only made it to 2 games last year, and both ended with us losing in a shootout with Lehner not stopping a single shot.
