ROR, Bogo, Nylander to Edmonton for Nugent-Hopkins and Klefbom??

Would Carolina go for a Bogo and Nylander trade for Victor Rask?? They are getting the #2 pick in the draft.
Rask would slot nicely in as Sabres 3rd line center.

Rasmus has logged a lot of minutes for this team. Yes he has made his mistakes, but when you compare him around the league he is one of the top Right handed defenseman around.

So although it seemed that Risto had a horrible year, statistically it wasn't that bad. I don't look at plus/minus that much when you are on a horrible team. So offensively he would be a Number 1 right handed defenseman on about half the teams in the league. I want to see him develop some more this year, but I am not giving up on Risto yet.
I think the top 4 looks bright for the future with Dahlin, Risto, and Guhle. Let them all play this year and develop a chemistry as a unit.

I see us signing a UFA like Jonathan Bernier, Anton Khudobin or Carter Hutton for two years to help Ullmark transition.
OR
Trading for a RFA like Grubauer or Mrazek.

I am now thinking the Sabres may stay pat on D unless they trade for one of the 2019 UFA defenseman.
My personal choice is OEL from Arizona. I would like the top pair of two Swedes OEL and Dahlin.

Age very similar.
Karlsson a Swede which will help Dahlin.
Karlsson would cost more in Cap Hit.
Karlsson better offensively and defensively.

Lou, the suggested roster only has 6 guys who appeared on this year’s opening day roster. A 14-16 guy change in the roster isn’t enough of a shake up for you?
Just too many young guys. I know JBots wants speed, but also wants experience. Look for guys to be brought in that are 23-25yrs old that have played a few years in the league but not getting chances with their current club to move up.

I think Risto is better already than Seabrook was during his prime. Dahlin projects to be better then what Keith was.
Seabrook and Keith were a pretty good 1,2 punch in the prime of their careers when Chicago won three cups. Buffalo needs to just build a steady core around them. I like McCabe and Scandella's game, Sabres just need to find the right fit for their 5th and 6th defenseman. Can Guhle and Nelson fill the void??
