No I am saying your original examples were *****.

The argument was that the teams best players become captain and you proceeded to give examples where that was not true except for the fact that those players became Captains almost exclusively when they were the best player on the team. You are now tossing other random trash into the mix to muddy the point.

You are wrong. The best players are almost exclusively the ones who become captains. Bergeron, best player when he was named captain. Josi is probably still the best on Nashville. Landeskog was the best before MacKinnon exploded. Toews was the best all around player on Chicago for years. Horvat was the best before they got Petersson although Boeser I suppose could be argued. The best player is typically named captain. John Tavares best player on his team until this year. And at worst these guys might be 2nd best players on their respective teams now which wasn't the point.

So no, you are not looking at it from the right direction and your examples failed to prove your point.

Wow. I rest my case. *****

You responded about these players not being the best on their team. Many were at the time they became captain and are at worst the 2nd or maybe 3rd best player now.

I dont think you are looking at this from the right direction.
With your mindset the one player that has most points or has the best performance each season ends with beeing the new captain next season.

And obviously you could not be more wrong.

The point is that eventhough u may score many points, it is how you behave, on and off the ice, overall, and i think you know this, that makes you material for a team when it comes to picking a captain.

Captains today are best player on the team. Not the best player at leading.

    What ?

    Gabriel Landeskog - Colorado
    Roman Jusi - Nashville
    Jonathan Toews - Chicago
    Bo horvat - Vancouver
    Patrice Bergeron - Boston
    Jared Spurgeon - Minnesota

    And more..

These are not the best players on the team, but i sure as hell would say they are best at leading.
You dont get chosen to lead just because you can score points, obviously there is more behind it than that.

  4. There are numerous of things to take in concideration when it comes to Don,

It was obvious that people would start ranting "Don Granato should be the new  head coach!!" after we won a couple of games.

    But,

This org must have more patience than ever before now, because this season wont tell jack sh1t other than a slight increase of players
totally destroyed confidence. 10 seasons has passed without playoff, this sh1t is deep as fk in all corners. All players that play for this team and players that consider joininig this team have this era of losing infecting their mindset, whether they like it or not and that does also include everyone else around the team that has an effect on the players such as coaching staff etc.

To break this curse this org needs a GM than has a mindset that has a affect on everyone connected to this team and this gm will need to hire a coaching staff that has the skills necessary to break this curse and BOY O BOY it will be hard as hell to find these assets needed.

In my personal opinion when it comes to Don Granato i believe he has to go after this season, not because he is doing a bad job but because he is a part of the curse that needs to be broken. I do not have faith in Don Granato and i probably never will, eventhough i like him so far and he is beeing way more honest in interviews than RK was. I like how they are playing, i like that most players have improvded this season under DG but .. BUT, that would've most likely been the case with any other coach aswell just because its different to take on a team that has a 18 game losing streak than normally, obviously.

    Did i say i like but(s) ?

It was a beautiful summer morning in July of 2005 when MODO arose early, put a pan of phat pannies in the oven, scratched his massive junk and strode onto his deck to admire the crisp morn. As he looked over Lake Vastenjaure, which he had purchased years earlier after inventing Sweden's version of the Clapper (the commercial jingle became an overnight sensation: "I'm high! Lights off! Lights off! Yaw-yaw!"), he noticed a young boy, 10 maybe, standing on the shoreline some 200 yards away, relieving himself into his pristine waters. Having bionic vision since birth, MODO could easily read the name on the back of the red and gold hockey sweater. R E I N H A R T. MODO cursed, then cursed again when he realized that the distraction had caused the pannies to burn, filling his impressive home with smoke. "Samson Alexander Reinhart you come back here this very moment!" came a motherly call from a nearby wooded area (bionic hearing as well). The name stuck in MODO's brain like panny droppings on a red-hot oven floor. He would never forget.

    Omg LOL

    I love you to😅

Oh you are quite wrong. You have taken this out of context. RK was in my opinion ensconced in the HC position and if that’s the case Dahlin needed a change of scenery to build back his confidence. No where did I state “ Trade him right F€£”;/-& G Now!
Coaches can make or break a players and by the way Dahlin still needs to learn to be a better defender.
If you can find me a young defenseman with Dahlin’s offensive skills and McCabes defending....that my friend is a #1 pick.
and of course when his contract is renewed we will do as we always do....Overpay him!

"Jack is not Captain material! He does way more pissing & moaning and sulking than leading!
    McCabe for Captain!.....Bazinga. "

This is exactly the same mindset as you had when you made your comment on Dahlin to send him down to AHL. (i never stated you yelled for a trade, i just copied your own comment

You see, we see this differently and i believe it is because you dont really understand. Dahlin in on his 3rd season in NHL, 21 years old. 2 of those seasons with the most dumb and idiotic coach who basicly taught Dahlin to be scared and afraid to make misstakes and that is not how you teach a young player to become a star, that is how you teach a player to keep making misstakes.

Dahlin has great both defensive and offensive skills and boy does it tell last 10 games, let a player with Rasmus skillset make misstakes and learn and coach him the right way and he will improve - it's simple math. Viktor Headman was #2 pick, go back and look at his career and you'll see that he didnt become what he is today over his first 3 seasons in the NHL.

Speaking of Jack now and what this really is about, is that i firmly believe he can shoulder the captain role beeing mentored correctly and that has not been the case.
We're all different but with the correct mentor you can do amazing things. Jack was to young when he got the C, we all know that now, maybe he still is but if you dont show and mentor a young player how to lead - then he will just look lost. Maybe Jack isnt Captain material after all, who knows, all i know is that to me it seams the mentor part has been missing.

Go to https://www.naturalstattrick.com/ and pick date ranges to see for yourself.  Ralph was fired March 17.

They're generating 2 more shots per 60min (at ES) than they did under Ralph.... but shooting % is way up from 5.92% to almost 12%.

Let's break that down a bit...

Under Ralph they generated about 26 shots/60 (at ES)  w/ a 5.92% shooting percentage.... that's about 1.5 goals/60 (at ES).

Under Don, the past 10 games, they generated about 29 shots/60 (at ES)  w/ an 11.72% shooting percentage.... that's 3.4 goals/60 (at ES).

Their save percentage (at ES) increased from 89% to 92%, and even tho they're giving up more shots, they're allowing fewer goals/60 (at ES).

    Ralph, 30 shots allowed/60, 88.98% save percentage = 3.3 goals allowed/60 (at ES).

    Don (last 10 games), 35 shots allowed/60, 92.18% save percentage = 2.7 goals allowed/60 (at ES).

So yeah, they're winning, but it's not because they're giving up fewer shots, fewer high danger chances, or playing better in their own end.    It's because of better goaltending and better shooting percentage.

It's also because of a new system that make it possible to increase the shooting percentage. Just saying

  8. I've never liked Sam Reinhart much, and i have my reasons.

But in this case, looking at the interview and how he reacts i think i must defend him. We have no clue why he behaved like that,
to me it looks like something have happened behind the scene maybe family related or something close to that. It is obvious that he does not want to
take this interview at all but does it because he is a professional sportsman (though he does not handle it so), but even so in this case 'if' there would be something very concerning on his mind it is very hard to be serious and calm in such interview.

This is only a speculation ofcourse and i have no reason to believe he acted like that just because he is tired of missing playoffs.

Well MODO, if we didn't know then, we sure as hell do now.

You are very correct, the coach. We as fans often over look the coaching. The 2020/2021 Buffalo Sabres are a text book case of just how critical coaching philosophy and it's implementation can impact not only a player, or a couple of players, but an entire roster.

Wow is all I got, just.....WOW. It's like night and day.

    Night and day, indeed.

This is your comment, and look at Dahlin now. I dont really think you understand what pressure and missleading coaching can do to a young player.

  11. I dont think Jack is a crap captain, he just got the C way to early.
It was almost like the sabres had to give him C because he was and still is our biggest star.

But that is not why you give someone the C, and i honstly believe that is why they gave him that because he was showing signs on and off the ice. But man, there are very few ppl that can captain a nhl team at that age, specially when it comes to a team that is struggling like we have, it takes ALOT by a captain to try and shoulder that.

Jack need a good mentor to take the next step and maybe just maybe is Granato that person, and if that would be the case i rest my case cuz then Jack will most likely become what he was born to, a complete athlete.
