With respect to Greenway, he is confident that he can be a lot better. There are hints that he is hurt. He mentioned that right now he is day to day. On Levi, he pointed out that what makes him special as a player is his makeup and maturity beyond his years. He compares him to Power in that regard. On the loss of Samuelsson and relating it to the team's struggles, he stated that the team's downward spiral after his injury is more attributable to the depletion within the unit rather than attributing it directly to Samuelsson not playing. 

    My general takeaway is that the coach is an ardent believer in the process and is optimistic that the organization is on the right course.

    When someone says a player is a waste of a roster spot, isn’t the implication that they shouldn’t be on the team? If that’s the case, I’m just wondering who else shouldn’t be on this team given how they played in other circumstances.

    For Greenway this play is a continuation of what he did in Minnesota who decided he wasn't worthy of a spot on their team. So far I've seen nothing to indicate that they were wrong to determine that.

    As opposed to Jost who was given away by the same team but came in and was at least able to justify his existence on the club in a short period of time indicating that he might be salvageable or at least useful in a specific role.

    The title of the thread is first impressions. I don't understand what piece of that you're missing. You wanna talk about your long term dream for Jordan Greenway start that thread. As of now he's played 8 games as a Sabre and has been extremely underwhelming in basically every way possible.

    How much development should I expect from a 26 year old? How long should I wait? Isnt the question about a first impression not a long term dream?

    They lost by a touchdown following a crap effort on Friday in the midst of quite a few crap efforts this month when they were in contention.

    Whether it was the Sabres or Bruins didn't make much of a difference. It's embarrassing either way.

    Don't get me wrong, I already have called for DC firing since last year, instead he walked away? If they fail to get to the Superbowl, either McDermott or Beane should get fired before Josh Allen is too old to win!!!

    How many more years are you giving them before you want them fired because they aren't winning this year either.

    I didnt say that's what I want, but it's reality. If they can't extend him this summer they can't risk him walking for nothing. If I'm Dahlin I wait to see the market rather than hitching my career to this crap wagon but who knows, maybe they can convince him. Let's be honest, if it's NOT done this summer it's only because Dahlin doesn't want to sign. I don't like Adams but I don't think he's THAT incompetent.

    Unless you KC, your team can't actually say that honestly from this moment.

    They've won nothing. They got to the AFC Championship game once, three seasons ago, and got smoked in that game. Since then, they've done less each year. If you want to keep counting regular season wins go ahead and be happy with that. It's not good enough. Win a Super Bowl? Get to one first.

    Because people are dumb. That's another team that is nougaty soft. They took a step backwards this year and and in the midst of another step backwards. When they ruin Allen from getting him hit so much the glass house will come crashing down. 3 years. Max.

    Seriously. Why shouldn't they boo? The team was in a playoff spot, the management decided to bring in minimal reinforcement, the team fell apart and are getting shellacked. Again. 

    I have tickets to the April 1 game in Philly and if this keeps up I'll be there just to boo the Sabres.
