There is only one goal. Playoffs. Period. Nothing else is acceptable.

..... so after we draft Bedard, who will be our second round picks?
There'd be people complaining that Bedard will block Savoie and ruin Mittelstadt's confidence.

Waste of a roster spot and doesn’t deserve to dress goes beyond 1st impressions.
When someone says a player is a waste of a roster spot, isn’t the implication that they shouldn’t be on the team? If that’s the case, I’m just wondering who else shouldn’t be on this team given how they played in other circumstances.
For Greenway this play is a continuation of what he did in Minnesota who decided he wasn't worthy of a spot on their team. So far I've seen nothing to indicate that they were wrong to determine that.
As opposed to Jost who was given away by the same team but came in and was at least able to justify his existence on the club in a short period of time indicating that he might be salvageable or at least useful in a specific role.

That’s a good point. You have waited two weeks.
The title of the thread is first impressions. I don't understand what piece of that you're missing. You wanna talk about your long term dream for Jordan Greenway start that thread. As of now he's played 8 games as a Sabre and has been extremely underwhelming in basically every way possible.

And during the Ralph Kruger years, what was your impression of Thompson? Middlestat? Dahlin?Skinner? What was Alex Tuch like in Vegas compared to what he is now? Jost?
How much development should I expect from a 26 year old? How long should I wait? Isnt the question about a first impression not a long term dream?

First impression? Waste of resources and a roster spot. What is he doing to deserve dressing?

It’s very important for someone to lack the information they need before they dole out internet punishment.
They lost by a touchdown following a crap effort on Friday in the midst of quite a few crap efforts this month when they were in contention.
Whether it was the Sabres or Bruins didn't make much of a difference. It's embarrassing either way.

Won something, won playoff games, they have had two 13-3 seasons in last three years. Why you watching Sabres with such LOFTY expectations?
Don't get me wrong, I already have called for DC firing since last year, instead he walked away? If they fail to get to the Superbowl, either McDermott or Beane should get fired before Josh Allen is too old to win!!!
How many more years are you giving them before you want them fired because they aren't winning this year either.

So you want to continue developing players for other teams and trading them away
I didnt say that's what I want, but it's reality. If they can't extend him this summer they can't risk him walking for nothing. If I'm Dahlin I wait to see the market rather than hitching my career to this crap wagon but who knows, maybe they can convince him. Let's be honest, if it's NOT done this summer it's only because Dahlin doesn't want to sign. I don't like Adams but I don't think he's THAT incompetent.
-
If they don't get him extended over the summer they have to trade him.

That chemistry in the room though. Top notch.

14-4 and Playoffs 4 years in a row. That is "Winning Something" . If your talking SB, point taken but there are 31 teams every year saying the same thing.
Pretty sure if Allen stays upright 10 years we will have a SB to go to and Win at least 1.
Unless you KC, your team can't actually say that honestly from this moment.
They've won nothing. They got to the AFC Championship game once, three seasons ago, and got smoked in that game. Since then, they've done less each year. If you want to keep counting regular season wins go ahead and be happy with that. It's not good enough. Win a Super Bowl? Get to one first.

Not even remotely, but I know fake good when I see it. Good teams don't struggle with Skylar Thompson.

Wasn't talking about the Sabres, but yes.

Get back to me when you actually understand why they are rated so highly to begin with.
Because people are dumb. That's another team that is nougaty soft. They took a step backwards this year and and in the midst of another step backwards. When they ruin Allen from getting him hit so much the glass house will come crashing down. 3 years. Max.

Conservatively, we have 5 more wins this year with league average goaltending.
Where does that put us?
2 days ago they lost 5-2 to one of those teams I'm sure that you have us "conservatively" beating.

Right, they’re overrated. Second best record in the league the last three years at 37-6 behind the the Chiefs at 40-10 while averaging the same PPG.
Thank you for defining their overratedness. Paper tigers.

The post I quoted said this exactly, that they are a goalie away from the playoffs
Well, it's technically true. That every other team chooses to play a goaltender each night is what's keeping the Sabres out of the playoffs. If they stop, they'd be a shoo-in.

In a position to lose out because we don't often get league average goaltending? That it looks like everyone else has pretty much quit isn't great either, but let's not shake up the chemistry in the room.

It's what they do with that cap space moving forward that matters.
When they don't do anything other than sign some of their own players, what then?

If blamed for this, do they get Accolades for building Bills to perennial Playoff years? Or is that for Beane and McDermott?
The Bills might be the most overrated team in the history of football.

Cause they are NOT into NHL Club being a Development Program, RIGHT?
Seriously. Why shouldn't they boo? The team was in a playoff spot, the management decided to bring in minimal reinforcement, the team fell apart and are getting shellacked. Again.
I have tickets to the April 1 game in Philly and if this keeps up I'll be there just to boo the Sabres.
