  1. Strategic microphone placement on Olga's part. Jack was trying not to stare into the microphone.....

I already have a hard enough time if a girl is showing some cleavage to not get caught taking a peek, but you can sneak one when they look away. On camera, even if he takes a peek for a second, it's on camera. I can't imagine the stress that brings. I've been busted enough to know the consequences, but if there is one still shot of Jack looking that is captured for all eternity on the web, watch out.

  2. Thanks for the opening. I never liked "Now do you believe" and "there's room on the believers bandwagon" after Game Six against Carolina. Rick has spoken of how that team was not expected to do anything, in fact was picked to finish last in the division by one of the national media guys. Well, throw it in that guy's face then. I didn't liked that message being delivered to the fans. Well, some deserved it, I guess.

Yeah, Jennearet's a joke and just a mouthpiece for a corrupt organization using the fans for revenue.

  3. He admits to re ranking prospects as he had Reinhart originally fourth in his draft year. He puts more weight on players with later birthdays in their draft year.

Also he stated MacKinnon is slightly ahead of Eichel. Sorry I missed that the first time I read it

Did anyone else get a chuckle out of the fact that NBCSN has a commercial for the World of Tanks Game during the game today?

I was wating for someone to mention the World of Tanks game. HA HA HA

And as much as I was hoping Darcy would move up for MacKinnon, there is no way I'd rather have him than Eichel.

  4. A Canadian market that has missed the playoffs since 2006 is not passing on the "Next Sidney Crosby" to draft an American.  It would be a PR and marketing nightmare.  On top of that McDavid has been a beast in his Juniors playoffs.  This is a non issue.

Yeah, I never see this happening either but I just think it's nice that Eichel has been so darned good that people are now worried we might not get him.

I couldn't be more pumped for Jack.

  5. I wish I made a Vine of this defensive play he made where he was two strides behind a guy, caught up effortlessly in the neutral zone, and then took the puck away from behind without a hint of an illegal play.

I kept looking for this "floating" but it's not there. He's always in postion and he can look like he's not skating that hard but he's just flying. That play along the boards for the goal was outstanding - he had two guys on him tight - the Vine doesn't go early enough - and came out with the puck and scored the game winner. He'll be our best player in Game One.

  6. I'm seriously not trying to be a dick with this comment.......but I would be scared to turn the keys to my 2004 Chevy over at the valet station of Cheesecake Factory to that person, let alone the keys to a $200 million company.....

    Are you the "Hannifin" guy?

  7. Maybe, but only because you said "about."  This is maximum cuteness:

I stand corrected. I wish the NHL didn't mandate helmets because I'd love to see those tight curls and face pubes flowing in the brisk First Niagara Center air.

  8. There is this guy who posts in every WGR550 Facebook post about the Sabres about how Noah "Hannifin" (sic) is the player the Sabres need and Eichel is a bust. It's in every post and I have to believe the guy is a troll.

    This thread smells like that.

  9. I hang out with like 10 guys from Buffalo here in Greensboro and a lot of times we get our wings crispy and naked and then make our own sauce with just butter, Frank's Red Hot, and maybe a little Tabasco. I also found Naturally Yours makes the best jarred blue cheese.

  10. the latest is that the Matthews decision will come later this week. Definitely playing in Swiss is an option for him. Will be interesting to see how that plays out. Way less exposure than in CHL or NCAA and won`t be putting up crazy numbers like he would playing against peers vs men.

It would be a nice story if Matthews played for Arizona State. It's the first year in D1, and he's a local kid, and he would give them instant recognition and legitimacy. But they don't appear to be on his list, and it might be too far off the hockey charts for his liking. Not that playing in Switzerland would be higher profile.

I think no matter what the kid does, he's going #1 anyway.

  11. While I understand the desire for quality, if you want all your wings "freshly fried" you might be waiting an hour at any busy establishment. See anchor Bar.

This is the first mention of Anchor Bar and should be the last. I went there for the first time in my life a couple of years ago even though I was born and raised in Buffalo just to see what people were thinking was the ultimate "Buffalo Wing". SO disappointing. Plus, my buddy and I asked for half hot, half medium, and they said they don't split orders. This was on an order of twenty wings. I have NEVER heard a place say that before. But ultimately, the wings aren't that great.

  12. I will be rebel.  The best wings I ever had in Buffalo were at Elmo's Bar and Restaurant on Millersport Highway They were medium sized, juicy delicious wings.

You're not the first person I've heard mention Elmo's. I haven't been but I need to check it out next time I'm up there.

Bob & John's La Hacienda on Hertel have excellent wings but the draw for me there is the pizza, which I think is the best in Buffalo, and that is saying a lot. The beef on weck at the Wellington Pub next door, which is sort of connected, is excellent as well, and it's just a great late-night North Buffalo bar.

  13. This board is like 96% reasonable people and 4% unreasonable crazies.

Those crazies post in almost every thread with the same nonsense.

I guess it does drive conversation but sometimes it's tiring reading the same old arguments.
