I'd like to see Kane pot one vs the Jets, he dished off to Sam last meeting. Selfless play in front of his ex mates.

In his interview on WGR he compared himself to David Backes.
If he gets close to that level we have a player.

Gionta may not have a RW spot next year if Bailey and Fasching take the next steps.

Mike Johnson from Sportsnet just analyzed Evander Kane's scoring. Only 2 of his last 95 goals were slapshots. Says he doesn't have a good one, but could improve it with practice. One timers would be on the radar as well. Interesting stuff.

Ennis could fit in with ROR and EK. This is Zemgus' chance to fly with the duo.
Longer term, one of the top wingers from this year's draft or Fasching, Bailey, Baptiste.
People dream about Stamkos but I think he buys into the Leafs 50 year rebuild plan. We should not pay what they will.
Maybe GMTM makes a summer deal for a solid scoring winger.

I recall Babcock talking about team stats a few years ago. One stat he valued was goal differential. We're sitting at -21 after 65 games and trending towards zero. We are 24th in the league and a few more wins like last game can get us to the mid teens. Washington 30 plus ahead of next best with +61.

See what kind of numbers he puts up after someone gives him 4x 4.5M.
Probably not Moulson like, but a dip would be expected unless he plays top line minutes and PP on his '16-'17 team.
Ducks can play him with Getzlaf and Perry inflate his numbers and them trade him at the draft.
Maybe GMTM has a favour from Bob Murray to have the inside track on Fowler at the draft. The old future considerations trade.

Foligno hasn't scored as many goals because McGinn was getting the PP duty.
Seriously, I like McGinn but he was going and is replaceable.
We're not the only sellers here folks.

McGinn's stats were decent due to him getting PP time, which he would get less of if Ennis were around. He may have been on there to inflate the stats for a better return. Foligno or Bailey would pot as many goals play in that role on the PP.
Bottom line, we got something for a guy that had one foot out the door. If GMTM wanted him, he would've kept him.

Without some lottery luck we will be picking 6-9. We're looking at one of the D- men as an option. Just so happens they are all left shooting.
I'd still like one of the Finns and find a top 2 D-man in another transaction.
