Don’t mistake his style of play as the only thing that matters here.
If the Sens team captain has maturity issues, then you cannot bring him into the youngest team in hockey. His fresh start would need to be where there’s a core group of veterans and this ain’t it.

But when I hear they got a player who has become too comfortable, I say that’s exactly the type of player we don’t have and sorely need.

Benson is a curious choice for an untouchable player.  Yes, he looks good when he plays, but he's an undersized teen with 4 goals and 10 assists in 40 games.  What about that screams "untouchable"?

Simple. He doesn’t play like any other on the team - he takes his shots from high danger zones. He plays bigger than he is. This is something you can’t teach. Now, the other biggest reason is he hasn’t been with the organization long enough to be ruined. There’s something about this team that makes players improve, hit a wall, and get worse. The whole team has. I’m not sure if it’s reversible, but the team needs a new coach before it’s too late.

Lidstrom’s would be a good addition. He fits the power forward profile.

I am a draft junkie but I know that once again whoever is chosen will not have an impact on the Sabres for a few years.

KA has to find leadership and grit via  another route to get this team in the playoffs next season.

My guess is Lindstrom will start shooting up the lists this coming spring. Players of his size usually do. See Slafkovsky drafted by the Canadians. My guess is Lindstrom sneaks into the top 5 if not top 3 based on his size.

Levi gave up 3 in 17 shots?   Hmmm.  Hadn’t played since Jan 9th.

    Great development plan.

Hopefully he’s left in Rochester for the rest of the season and maybe next year to start too.

I have a solution to this CHL issue. The CHL teams want to keep the players to protect the league but it's also to make money. As you see, when the CHL team doesn't think they can win, or wants to tank, they have non-issue moving these kids for compensation. The problem with moving them to the NHL is they get nothing out of it. If there were an agreement in place where NHL teams could buy out the CHL contract the CHL teams would be more open to it. Make the fee high enough so that NHL teams would really have to think about doing it and would only do it for exceptional players but not so high that it never happens at all. Maybe have the fee tiered based on how many eligible years you are buying out, 2 costs more than one. What would you all feel is a reasonable fee in this scenario? 500k USD per season of eligibility?

This could work. The CHL doesn’t like letting these types of players go because it worsens their league. With less flashy players on the ice, there’s less butts in the seats. You are correct, it’s just about money, not player development. Compensation for their potential loss in revenue may work.
