It’s not that they can’t, it’s that they don’t. There’s nothing stopping a team from doing it.
Huh. Was explained to me differently by a former sabres front office guy

They absolutely can.
I can't find anything on it but every trade I've saw with a conditional or lotto protected pick if they keep it the first year they cannot protect it a second year. The Islanders pick for vanek was explained this way along with another I can't recall atm

Shane Wright has led my NHL 21 sabres franchise to 7 cup wins in 10 years. We all know video games and real life are pretty much the same thing so if we want 7 cups by 2033 we have to draft him.
Seriously though any of the top three would be amazing

Source?
You give up your source and they stop giving you info.

Small sample size? So apparently the WJC is no longer a valid measuring tool to evaluate up and coming prospects… yeah okay.
7 games no matter where it's played is a small sample size.

Think his value at deadline is zero. He'll be going to free agency what teams would offer more.
The reported return right now is pretty much zero. Teams pay more for rentals all the time

The bottom line is he is gone for zero after this season. By keeping him it's not like he's making you a playoff team. We were last place with one of his best years. So next seasons end you lose him and you're still likely no better for having kept him.
Or you know trade him before the deadline. Doing this also shelters Cozens and Mittlestadt so we're not rushing them into a role theyre not ready for. But this team loves rushing prospects in and screwing up their development

Pendulum swings one with with the risto trade, it's gonna swing the other way for a reino trade.
Hope to God it swings back for an eichel trade

Are we waiting for ESPN to break the news on the return?

I think Jack stays, but who knows with 19 minutes to go.
Can trade during the draft too. Minnesota's pick is where the window pretty much closes if they want draft picks this year

I am hoping that #13 makes #3 and Zegras+ palatable for Anaheim for Eichel and that LA responds with a good offer for Reinhart.
I really don't want to give up any firsts in a deal. Seconds all day.

McDermott & Beane run a very tight ship. Since Brandon & Berchtold were punted, there have been pretty much no leaks. That team is no longer dysfunctional.
Pretty sure one of the things owners were adamant about when hiring Adams was that there would be no leaks. And he's run a pretty quiet crew himself. By design IMHO.
Berchtold came to my job about a year before he was let go. I recognized him and started a conversation. Took about 30 seconds from meeting me until he started offering info. Really nice guy tho.

Could be, don't really trust the source and it doesn't make sense. Seattle has 1000 defenders currently. My money is on Zemgus
I agree on Zemgus.

That's what I've read. He's sorta undersized for the role, though.
He's short but he's jacked. I don't have any worries about his size.

Duncan Keith to oilers. For Caleb Jones and conditional 3rd

Was mentioned on WGR yesterday that Adams was telling coaches that Matt Ellis would be on their staff

There was a report wgr yesterday that said the sabres have Eklund rated higher than any other Forward.

Thanks @Buffalonill, much appreciated.
I don't think keeping Reinhart has been a realistic option for a while now. Samson seemed to have made his decision a year or two ago and everything that's happened since just solidified it. Everything points to him leaving after his RFA ends.

What position does he play
DE. 6'6" 245 had an offer to play at Arizona but decided on baseball when he was drafted.

Hold up... if they remove the disk, don't the adjacent vertebrae eventually fuse together? That can't be good in the neck area for a hockey player.
Probably a discectomy. Just removing the portion of the disc that’s protruding.

Was too far down the board for it to be believable. If it actually happened it would have been the first thread

If I were another team I would have little to no interest just because of the injury.
