This is such a loser move that won’t do anything but make it more difficult for Sabres fans who want to support the team by purchasing from them. Opposition fans will still purchase from the secondary market at a markup like they have been for decades. Local fans waking up and deciding they want to catch a Sabres game are still going to first check the secondary market because it’s been cheaper than the team for the last decade. If you want a full barn of Sabres fans, ice a team that will create another waiting list. But even then they’ll still be in the arena in roughly the same number.

Terry bought the Sabres to be able to make a better play at buying the Bills. He loves the Bills. He gets his mentions by the players and ESPN and all the love in the world. Half the Sabres fanbase hates him. Why wouldn’t he rather sell the Sabres? Not to mention the value of an NFL franchise is going to continue to grow faster than the value of an NHL franchise.

Hip issues aside, Kane was always destined to have a much more gradual decline because what makes him a star are his hands and eyes. As long as he is of serviceable skating his PPG should be at or exceed his last years number.

There was a number of years with season ticket holder events that let me meet most of the late 90s-2000s players. I met Miller when he was lost on one of his first call ups in Montreal.
