LTIR for Weber saves a lot of cap room for Montreal. Maybe he'll pull a Kucherov for the playoffs next year.
I can only imagine what it took to get him ready to play during the playoffs at the level he was playing with all those injuries. Warrior.

This is a slugfest. Some weird no calls tonight but I don't think it impacted the result in the end.
I'm loving this finals! Two teams that you never see there battling out.
It's been a close and fun series to watch.

You have a point. I probably have PTSD from years of everybody here blaming the coaching staff for his shortcomings.
Risto
Thumbs up for the first part. Boo the 2nd! Haha

no, just Risto and Borgen 🙂
Which are you protecting?

Giannis hasn't taken the ball out correctly all series. Glad they finally noticed.
Still won't call him for it though.

I give up. We've had 8 years of ***** Risto. 4 more years! 4 more years!
I don't know how you expect this team to get better by keeping the same players. We highly overrate our players, especially Risto. We are dead ***** last again, folks!
First team to ever finish 31st, let's go for another record.

The concept of Risto has been tried for 8 years. The data is in. There's no "concept" more false than Buffalo's view of Ristolainen.

I don't think Seattle even selects Risto if he's exposed. They'd probably still take Miller or even Zemgus. But let them choose among those three. Hell, Eakin makes a 4th choice if they want.

Who are you worried about losing if we protect Risto and trade him at the deadline in-season when he's likely worth more.
For @inkman
If I'm Seattle, based on the other crap that will be available from the Sabres, I'm taking Borgen all day, everyday if he's available. He at least has spirit and fight. Something this team sorely lacks and could use more of.

It's great to see the Sabres moving to put themselves in the best possible position for the expansion draft. We're the worst team in the league. We shouldn't care who Seattle selects of our leftovers.

Borgen has promise and is young, cheap, and tough. We know what we have in Risto, time to give the poor guy a chance somewhere else.

I will be very surprised if Risto is exposed.
I was shocked that Skinner waived. A tiny, tiny glimmer of hope that this ship can be righted. The expansion list is going to be very interesting to see.

Fans of Rasmus Asplund and Anders Bjork rejoice!
More Asplund. I'm betting he would have been the odd man out and Seattle's choice, without some arrangement being worked out.

I thought Kevyn Adams was too dumb to ask.
This totally makes sense. Leave the Sabres to join an expansion team. 👍
It would probably be a pretty even bet as to who will have more points this year, the Sabres or the Kraken. At least in Vegas, not in the Sabres fandom bubble.
-
Funny side effect of the Skinner decision. It's all about Risto now. I'd be ok if Seattle took him, just for the cap space. There's going to be opportunities to pick up some good players for not a whole lot this offseason, if you have the cap space to do so.

Thanks to Jeff, the forwards we would like to protect are all set. Now protect Borgen, and expose Ristolainen on defense, and let Seattle take whoever they want off of our worst team in the league roster.
-
Woohoo! Thanks, Jeff!

That first video is brutal. They should have just let Rick talk the whole time. It was pretty interesting to watch after the decade that this franchise has just had though, so thanks for that. 🍺

Is anyone poking fun at you for spending money on something you enjoy? Or putting your decision down? Or belittling it? No. Respect.
I'm not belittling anyone, but nothing is gonna change until it's forced to. We're a joke, a nonentity. I'm not funding that. I said I'll pay the price when/if the Sabres are good again. We're over a decade now of the shittiest hockey and hockey decisions imaginable. I have no optimism anymore. I'm in "prove it to me" mode.

And if the Sabres were good you'd be crying about season ticket holders charging too much on the resale market, pricing out "real" fans like yourself.
Never have had that complaint. I'll pay for quality music, sports, and entertainment. When/if the Sabres are worth it again, I'll pay their price too.
I've got a grand + in concert/Bills tickets already paid for this fall. Much better use of my money than watching the Sabres play awful hockey in person.

I'll say this again. The league has a say in ticket prices. The last thing they want to see are price reductions for bad seasons.
Most of you aren't STHers anyway so why do you care?
Most of us have learned not to waste money on inferior products, no matter what the snake oil salesmen say. Money talks. Terry wouldn't have to pinch so many pennies these days if he owned a good, competent, hockey team that fans wanted to support.

Let's Go Mets!

Very smart to avoid, especially after the last decade and counting.
Now fix the gameday experience and that will also help tremendously.

Well I just went and got tested for Covid.
Yes, I got fully vaccinated (Pfizer) as soon as I could be. Yes, I already had Covid in December.
I thought I had a cold starting Monday, but then I lost all taste and smell (the absolute worst part of covid for me), so here I am.
Worst luck ever if I have this goddamn virus again.
