  1. Do you mean by taking on the Sabres/Bills? If so, yes. He said he wanted to win. He hasn't. Plus, Sabres seats are half empty and have been for a while. I don't think he cares very much frankly.
  2. Why couldn't we have kept them? That's what contracts are for. Imagine how much better we would be with Eichel, Reinhart, Montour, and Ullmark. We blew our chance on being a contender by making silly, fruitless moves. It all goes back to Pegula.
  3. We would've been better off not moving any of those pieces. Sub Risto. Comparing a Conn Smythe Captain to a guy who blew up two years in the reg season is quite a stretch. For the sake of argument, sure. Eichel trade - super mega epic fail. Reinhart trade- epic fail. Montour trade - epic fail. Risto - win. Well, I guess you win. You got me to list one trade that we didn't completely flounder in the last dozen years.
  4. In Summary: Out: Eichel (cup), ROR (cup MVP), Reinhart (finals), Montour (finals), Risto, Ullmark. In: Levi (prospect), TT (great), Tuch (good), Rosen (prospect), Kulich (prospect). We were almost a competent team.
  5. He wasn't coming back because we were hot garbage and continue to be. Same reason why we couldn't keep Ullmark. Tell me who you're going to get that's better than any of those players? Think I'd rather have Eichel and ROR than TT and Tuch.
  6. You really honed in on the Risto point. Forgetting that we traded Eichel, Reinhart, Montour, Ullmark for a bag of pucks is pretty convenient to your above point.
  7. I love how ardently you guys defend the management of this team. Can you name one worse team since Pegula took over in 2011?
  8. Ok? Rosen for Risto might be an upgrade. That remains to be seen. What is evident is that our defense is Swiss cheese. We were 7th last in GA last year if you remember.
  9. Wouldn't be hard, they have a much better track record since Ville Leino scored in game 7 12 years ago.
  10. Admittedly, we completely fleeced the Flyers by getting a first for him. He is still better than Samuelsson, Johnson x2, Joker, and Clifton.
  11. He put up top minutes and was a physical defender. May I remind you, we got Robert Hagg from that trade. Why win now when we can lose later?
  12. ROR - has a cup as a Captain and Conn Smythe trophy. Yeah, that ROR. Eichel - a generational centre behind only McDavid, Draisaitl, Mackinnon, and Crosby. Cup winner and Conn Smythe runner up (had equal pts and more TOI than Marchessault). Reinhart - wonder why he left? And why he is a top scorer in the reg szn and last year's playoffs? Risto - better than all of our current bottom 4 D-men. Montour - see above. Ullmark - because Levi, UPL, and Comrie are a better option? I admire your being bold and trying.
  13. Our owner is a full on mental case who has no idea what he's doing. We gave away a generational center for nothing, only for said center to put on an MVP performance in the Stanley Cup Finals the very next year. And better yet, he said he would've stayed if he got the surgery (which he ended up getting anyways). We gave away a 500 pt winger (50-60 pts per season) at 5 mil for a prospect and a draft pick. We gave away Montour who put up 13 pts +2 in the playoffs for the Cats for a third round pick. O'Reilly full on said he lost the love of hockey while he was in Buffalo. If that doesn't mean that something is horribly, terribly wrong with the culture in this city, I don't know what would. By the way, he was also the Conn Smythe winner as Captain of the Blues the next year. We don't have a 1A goalie. We had one. He's now starting for Boston, a team that can at least make the playoffs. Pegula is the man!!!
  14. Personally I can't be bothered to try to figure it out.
  15. Bruh, ROR has been a better player than any Sabre in the last decade sub Eichel (in Vegas). Hall is more competent than anyone we have besides maybe TT. Risto was a decent D-man who we managed to replace with literally no one. Ullmark Reinhart and Montour are happily as far away from this terrible team as possible and they are tearing it up. We are all going to be severely disappointed as we watch this team fail year after year until Pegula is way in the rear view mirror.
  16. We are royally fudged until Pegula takes off. He cannot make sound executive decisions, nor can he hire competent staffers. We let players walk that would have allowed us to be competitive now (ROR, Hall, Ullmark, Eichel, Reinhart, Foligno, Risto, Montour). We had all the pieces, but not the leadership required to unite the team under the vision: Championship. That comes straight from the Owner. Pegula has got to go.
  17. I thought about why this team is bad. It's poor ownership. Symptoms include: - Trading your franchise center for no reason whatsoever (Eichel). - Letting go of players that should stay (Drury, Briere, Foligno, O'Reilly, Ullmark, Risto, Montour, Reinhart). - Trading the house for guys that have no place on the roster (E Kane, Bogosian). - Massively overpaying for players (Vanek, Myers, Okposo, Skinner, bridging Dahlin, Olofsson). These moves are facilitated by a poor staff. Adams/DG show a glimpse of hope, still they are falling flat. Namely: - failure to acquire a 1A goalie. - failure to prop up the bottom 6 F and bottom 4 D. - failure to teach the kids how to play defense, or acquire veteran staff/players that are equipped to do so. Our new core is going to get tired of sucking if the team doesn't remarkably improve soon, in which case we end up in another tank. We need a better owner.
