We fired the coach and things haven't really changed, why,IMO, because the same offensive[non-existant] and defensive coaches are still there. Every team playing Buffalo uses the same pattern, get the puck in the Buffalo end get them running around and when Buffalo comes out, they get over the red line, shoot it in and go off on a line change. The other team brings it right back down again. No offense or when they do, they can't shoot, either they miss the net or try fancy passes. In the good old days, you had a man by the name of Danny Gare, who after practice would spend time shooting the puck at the net from all over the ice, the point being, it became second nature, when he shot it was headed for the net. We need someone like him as offensive coach to teach these guys something. Defense, ha, I keep hoping a small guy like Gerbe will beat up on Meyers, the guy is a pushover, players know he never challenges them and when they deke him, he usually gets a penalty. Any body who has watched Mike R. on TV when he is using the illustrator can see where the Sabres are falling apart. Solution: Trade quite a few players for draft choices or if lucky a veteran, but clean house. But first change the coaching staff.
