I'm not sure I agree with this assessment, and I definitely don't agree with your opinion that every trade he's made outside of O'Reilly has been a disaster. I'll have to go visit the comprehensive list of moves, but I think he's at about 50/50 right now.

Yes*, assuming he's smart enough to part with Bylsma sooner than later. *Please do not construe this as an "OMG he's awesome" post, as I was highly critical of him this offseason and he may still have a lot of work to do. But I think it's premature to condemn him to death without seeing his team with a different coach.

Tell me more about how not believing this team is capable of a couple of winning streaks to get to playoff contention is somehow doom and gloom. It's reality.

Hear what Ray is saying right now about what Babcock tells his players? Paraphrasing of course "I don't need my players to play careful. I want them to be responsible, but not careful. I want my young players..." Total opposite. Way to use fewer words than me.

I don't think this is due to stick handling, I think it's because he uses his strength and reach to shield it well and keep it out of reach of the defender. But he regularly loses puck battles in tight spaces. Matthews, meanwhile, looks like Pat Kane when operating with little room. So, you're saying, that was not a good penalty to take?

Foligno, Gionta, and Franson will all garner a good deal of interest, I think. Still 50/50 on Foligno...wish I knew what his contract demands were going to look like.

:lol: Alternatively, what did Moulson do to get the promotion? And what do I have to do to see O'Reilly and Eichel get time together? Being down 1 goal with 10 minutes left in a game you could really use to win in regulation, against a team with 5 defensemen (sans their best), seems like a time to try to frontload the lines a bit.

Foligno. He left him to chase whoever had the puck behind the net as they were coming out with it.

I mean, I'm not going to defend Bylsma in general, but I think it's been a pretty even game. They get a goal on a lucky bounce, a Lehner softy that even D4rk could save, and a Foligno busted coverage leaving Matthews open in the slot. Hard to pin that on the coach...well, other than the poor decision to play Lehner in a back to back.
