Large chain stores that open on Thanksgiving to start the mad dash to buy crap from China. People should be able to enjoy Thanksgiving. It makes me want to puke.

I had a similar situation. I worked at my previous employer for 5 yrs but I couldnt take the toxic working environment. A lot of backstabbing by upper management and the mechanical engineering department was treated like dog crap. I was always in a bad mood after work. I decided to look for a new job and luckily found one within a few months. I have been here a year and love it. I enjoy what I do and the work environment is fantastic. Good luck with your search. My complaint: So much for the Winter Classic saving the hockey season. The NHL is drifting further out into the Sea of Irrelovence.

Yes, America has done some exceptional things like what Mr. Neil Armstrong accomplished but we have also done some horrible things. The fact that "God" likes the United States of America more than another country is hilarious. :blink: That is the same as an athlete saying "God" wanted our team to win more than the other team. Apparenlty "God" was a Brett Hull fan. :wallbash: And for the record I have lived in another country other than America before. It was Austria and it wasnt bad at all. The people were kind, the food and beer were fantastic and frankly the pace of life was nice. Do they have their own problems? Of course they do. And of course I wouldnt want to be the Cambodian kid who makes my Nikes or the Vietmanese kid who put my keyboard together. You, me , and everyone else who can have a civil discussion are not saying that they want to live in the Congo, Sudan, North Korea or Afganistan. What ever happened to having some humility?

Because America is exceptional and God likes us more than the other countries. :blink: I live in Virginia so I get to see all the good political ads. The one that I really like is the ad that says illegal immigrants (I assume they are only talking about those from south of the border) are taking new college grads jobs. What?! Is little Billy or Susie going to take their useless Liberal Arts degree from $40,000/yr college and do the work that an illegal immigrant would do? I would guess that a majority of illegal immigrants either A. work in restaruants (low level to fine dining) B. Open their own restaurant C. Migrant farmers D. Processed food industry (ex. meat packing) E. Lawn crews and D. Construction. Sorry folks, I just don't see it happening. Maybe Little Billy and Susie should have gotten a degree in something that is useful like engineering, accounting, teaching, nursing etc. Yes, I understand those majors do not automatically translate to jobs but those skills are a lot better than the average "Would you like fries with that" classes a Liberal Arts major would take. Don't blame the illegals for that. The blame is with a lot of people ranging from outsourcing of jobs, etc. off the soap box

Exactly. I find it comical that the owners want to limit contracts to 5 years when they willing go out and sign players to long term deals so they can fudge the numbers to make the cap number work. The owners can't even trust themselves as they know one of them will break ranks and offer a player a long term deal. I guess they have to have it in "writing" so the owners are not suspected of collusion if they agree to the 5 year deal off the record. My thoughts on the potential lock out are mixed. I dont think it will affect whether or not I continue to follow the Sabres and the NHL. I will still fork over the money for Center Ice. What does grind my gears is that the two sides are going to destroy all the progress that they have made since the lost year. They are on a good network that has the NHL as one of their flag ship sports and they are going to throw it all away. I think the NBC Sports Network, getting a boost from the Olympics, is going to continue to grow and be somewhat competitive with the Evil Empire in Bristol. Why mess up a good thing? On a side note, could another lockout lead to some teams contracting or moving to more traditional hockey markets?

Too many users and not enough licenses for software. Of course, the high level mustaches have known about this problem for a good 6 months yet nothing has been done about it so I get to listen to users complain about it. This one turd in particular went on a rant how he is the most important person so he should have first crack at getting a license. Maybe he shouldnt have closed his program down and then try and reopen it 5 minutes later only to lose the license to someone else. Serenity now ....

I am sick and tired of deadbeats at my job who don't do their work but just pass it along.

Not really a complaint but I have complained about this co-worker before. He finally got fired. After four years of leaching off of everyone, the company let him go. The mood in the office went up 10 fold. No one liked this guy because he was an arrogant prick who never thought he was wrong but never got anything right. Now I know how the people of Oz felt. On to my complaint: We got a new server at work and it is causing havoc as nothing is working now. I spent 4 hours this morning trying to solve some problems and it is not even my job. We do not have any IT people so you have to fend for yourself and some of my co-workers are not the most computer savvy.

People I work with continually do not follow the company drawing standards. It is the same morons over and over again. They are informed yet never change. I think it is time for some heads on pikes time.

This guy at work is lazy and never does any background checks on previous machines that were engineered. He goes around and asks 5 people about the same thing then somehow comes to a decision. If something he does is wrong, he always comes back with "well, so and so told me to do it." He has been doing this for 4 years and still does it. He should have a good idea of how our machines work by now. He just asked me about two parts that were put on a BOM but were later cancelled. I asked him if he checked the assembly print first and of course he says yes. I asked if they were on there and he says yes. I said well if they are on there then you need them. He left and I checked the print and they are not on there. So this turd will order them and they are not needed but I know he will blame me for telling him to do it. The kicker is I don't even work in the machine line that he does anymore. He has put out crappy work for 4 years now yet he still is employed here. It really grinds my gears. Now is the time to go out and get a good engineer who may have been laid off to replace some of the dead wieght around here or get a kid out of college who can be trained. Rant over

Someone changed the timing of the light at the exit I get off at for work this week. The exit has a very long off ramp and traffic backs up to the interstate where people are pulling off onto the shoulder to get into line. I hope they change it soon because there is going to be a nasty little pile up. And I am still feeling it from my Memorial Day Weekend bender. :beer:

Stupid coworkers who continually have to be told the same thing over and over again. I have no problem helping someone out but after telling them the same thing multiple times I get mad. I call it the Ground Hog's Day effect. One particular guy is very lazy and seems to forget everything from the the current day and all previous days as soon as he steps out the front door at the end of the day. He constantly asks the same question atleast once a week. I wish I had a snow shovel and could give him a good whack upside the head. Maybe he would remember that. :wallbash:

The company used to provide pastic untensils in the various lunch rooms. Apparently they have stopped. I cannot find a fork so I am using a spoon. It would have been nice if the higher ups would have mentioned something so I could bring in my own fork.

Trust me, I wish this was the case but she also said some other very harsh things in the email. There is a bit of history so this isnt just an out of the blue and I have raging hormones thing. It could have been handled A LOT better than it was. I dont think there is any going back from it.

Some people in charge at work are crazy. I had a customer complain about tool wear on a part that was made where I work. The wear is considerably less than they previously saw for the same part. Instead of questioning how it was made, the powers that be are just going to live with it. Why? The head of manufacturing is a lunatic who screams whenever you question anything that comes out of his machine shop. I battled with this guy for weeks about a part not being to print and he wouldn't have any of it. Finally, they sent the part out to an independent source and the part was not to print. I just want decent parts made. My brother's wife basically told my parents that she doesnt want them to come around anymore. She is due in June with their second child but she said she doesnt want them there for the birth. This of course this has caused a major rift in the family. A build up of tension has finally overflowed. My brother is stuck between pissing off our parents or pissing off his wife. His wife always wins. Edit: My brother's wife did this in an email.

ESPN has clarified that the article that started this s storm was an opinion piece and not news. Don't worry though, the government, aka whimpy liberals, is still going to try and take your guns. Now on to my complaint, we finally get some decent weather and it is suppose to rain all weekend.

I can't stand it when I go to a website and a video just starts to play automatically whether it is for an ad or for a story. Lately, when I go to SI.com, I try to click on a link and it goes to the stupid Sobe ad. Embedded video is nice but if I want to watch it let me click on it. I can't stand how during the State of the Union, the party that is aligned with the President feels the need to stand up EVERY single time the President makes a point. Yeah, I get the fact that you agree with him but it makes the speech agonizingly long.

1- I am still sick. 2- How can the head of manufacturing also be the head of quality control? Isn't this a bit of conflicting interests? The man in charge of making the parts is also in charge of checking the parts. If his machine shop makes something wrong, then he just says that it is still functional and sign off on the part instead of making the part to the print. Since he deems the part functional, I guess he is in charge of engineering also. Am I the only one who sees this as a problem? Apparently so because that is how it works at my company. Three complaints today 1) The usual complaint about people driving in the right lane slow causing a back up on the roads. 2) People who have flags of their origin hanging from their rear view mirrors. For some reason this is getting on my nerves this week. Maybe I am cranky because of complaint number 3. 3) I have been installing AutoCAD and Inventor software on computers for the last two days. This is not my job but I get volunteered for it because no one else is competent enough to do it. Since this takes me away from my real job, I now have people complaining that I havent got my work done this week that needed to be done. How can I babysit an install and still do my other job? I hate installing software. Plus, the interface is different and everyone is complaining to me about it. I need a snow shovel so I can start whoopin some ass.

I got a new work laptop. My coworker spec'ed out the computers that we needed. Of course, the company didn't order that. They went for the cheaper crappier version. My beef is that my company does not have an IT department so I have to load all the software that I need. So while I am trying to do my normal job, I have to squeeze in the time to load my computer. Not all the software is loading properly so now I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out why it is not working. I am about to just hand the new computer back and keep my old one.

The salesman for the product line I work in is a retard and pisses me off a lot. He really enjoys twisting my words into to sales speak so he can look good in front of the customer and makes me look bad. :wallbash: On a positive note: My brother's friend was squatting at my house but found a different job in a different city so he will no longer wake the house up in the morning when he re-enacts the running of the bulls every morning. Yay more sleep.

To continue the driving theme, I pulled into work this morning and Van Halen's "Panama" came on the radio. I was tempted to sit in my car to listen to it but it was cold oot. There is nothing like some Van Halen to get the morning started.

I hate the salesman at my company who sells the product line I work in. I am the applications engineer for the product line. Last year I went to our parent company in Austria for 2 months to run a test for a company we were going to sell a possible machine to. It turns out that the part they want to run on our machine is not ideal. We found this out at the test. Who knows what the salesman promised the customer. As I have found out, the salesman promises the world (even when told some things are not possible) and it is the engineers job to make it work. When the salesman is asked at a later day what they promised, they do not know or forget it. Just before the holiday break, the customer came back with some questions and comments on the test and results. The salesman, who is gutless, asked me and my coworkers who helped me in Austria to address the questions and comments. When I returned from Christmas break I addressed them. The salesman did not like my answers because I said the part was not ideal for our process aka he wouldn't sell a machine and get a commission. So the salesman sends my responses to Austria and asks their opinion. They agreed with my statements. Fast forward to today. The customer was in because they purchased a machine for a different application but since the salesman never responded to their questions and comments some 6 weeks later, they wanted to discuss it. So we had a conference call with my coworkers in Austria, me, my boss, the customer and salesman. My boss supports me in my opinion. During the call, my coworkers in Austria basically agree with what I told the salesman at the beginning of this month. Further testing is needed but it might not be worth it because of the costs inherited in testing. The salesman says to the customer, give us your concerns and we will respond. After sitting in a meeting for 30 minutes hearing all the bull crap, I told the salesman infront of the customer that a) the customer already gave us their questions and comments and b) both myself and Austria have responded to these questions. He had the dumbest look on his face. The salesman never sent the respnse to the customer because as he said "He wanted the response to have a positive sales spin to them". So now weeks later, the problem is still not resolved and the answers I gave the salesman were backed up by my Austrian coworkers yet he still will not listen because he wants to sell a machine and get his commission check. The part that really chaps my behind is he makes me and my coworkers look unprofessional in the eyes of the customer because we did not answer their questions and comments in a timely matter because the salesman is too gutless to admit that maybe he promised to much to the customer in the first place. I wish I had a snow shovel so I could rail the salesman in the head with the thing and be done with it. This is the second time the same salesman went against engineerings recommendations but he doesnt care because he just sells the machines and doesnt have to make them work. Oh and another thing, I hate weathermen who say their is a winter warning advisory for 2-4 inches of snow sending the populous into a frenzy and cancelling EVERYTHING yet not a single friggin' drop of snow comes. Damn that felt good.
