I still don’t think telling these guys to go to areas they clearly are averse in going to will make them turn into Brendan Shanahan.
Absolutely, but the players who avoid the front of the net like it’s a quarantine zone will find their ice time significantly reduced

The Sharks have fired HC David Quinn.
This would be a good landing spot for Donny Granato.

The first Expected Buffalo Mock Offseason is up.
William Karlsson is acquired for Matt Savoie and a 2024 2nd.
Tyler Toffoli is signed two years 7 million AAV
Jokiharju traded to Utah for a 2nd

I have a feeling that Adams was ready to pull the plug on Granato a few times this season and Lindy was his choice for an in season replacement

"I love analytics, we were a huge analytics club in NJ." Talks about analytics knowledgably and mentions xgf, zone entries and exits, talks about players not being placed together if they have bad results. Calls it a tool he likes to use but also has to pass the eye test.

It’s a 2 year deal for Ruff

So how come you think it wouldn’t be the 2 years you had suggested previously?
I’m glad they share my timeline
I’m a reasonable man
..Shut up
If it was anyone else but Lindy, it would have been two years.
Lindy could easily be moved into an advisory role as Pegula trusts him.
The same could not have been said about other hires- 1

Berube and Gallant amongst a few others did have interviews with the Sabres via zoom the past few days
It would not surprise me if Adams mentioned Ruff replacing Granato in season, but was rebuffed by Pegula
Ellis is not guaranteed a spot behind the bench
One member of the staff will be a coach in waiting as mentioned before. Appert is my guess.
If it was Peca, I doubt Lavy or the Rangers would block him from moving.
Ruff will spend a lot of time around the Amerks over the next few weeks getting know the prospects as well as Appert.
And @Thorny if this does go south, your prediction will come true next offseason. That’s a reason why Adams hired Lindy he knows they can work together.

Beane mentioned they do not have first round grades on 28 players this year. Thursday should be interesting

I'm saying Sullivan has worked with a locker room filled with seasoned veterans and at least one of the best leaders in the league. How he'd function in a room like we have is unknown.
Bylsma had ROR when he was still loving it.
The Sabres would have a pretty good idea of what he would bring to the table. He has a relationship with Jason Karmanos, Sam Ventura and Mike Bales was on His Staff. In the unlikely event the Penguins let him go he should get consideration for the Sabres HC Position

I wonder if he talked to Adams and decided to not be interviewed.
I am ready to move on from #28.
With the talk of the team’s leadership or more importantly lack there of I really do not see how they can bring him back

Can't see this happening unless Crosby wants Sullivan gone. Not this year anyway.
If it did though I'm not sure Sullivan is what we need. Remember Bylsma had success with Crosby too.
This version of the Sabres has a lot more talent than Bylsma’s Sabres.
Eichel and Reinhart were first and second year players during their two seasons with him.
Not sure that’s the best comparison, especially since Bylsma wore out his welcome with Crosby and Malkin very rapidly.

It doesn’t sound like the Penguins are going to fire Sullivan (from the Athletic):
“• Dubas praised the coaching staff and said the Penguins’ issues were his fault but also stopped short of saying the entire coaching staff will be retained. Rather, Dubas said he will discuss the staff with head coach Mike Sullivan before any final changes are made.”
I do wonder if another Toronto First Round Exit spells the end for Sheldon Keefe. That could start a cascade as Dubas and Keefe are close from their days with Soo Greyhounds and possibly free up Sullivan.
