  1. This is a smart move by Adams.

Gives an amount of cost certainty and means there can't be an offer sheet that is insane.

I still think the Sabres will sign Bo(hemian) to a 4 year $6.5 to $6.75 AAV contract and this case never gets ruled on.

When do we know what the Sabres are offering in arbitration?

Agree with all this. Player evaluation (and development) has been questionable at best with this regime of coaches and GM.  How is JBD worse than Bryson?  Plus he is a right handed shot. To your point, Johnson or Novikov could fill that role of #6.  And if, if you somehow extricate the AAV for Mr.Glass, then you might have been able to plugged in an even better partner for Power. But we all know if Adams was to able to move his $4.4m cap number, it’s doubtful they spend it elsewhere.  Something like

    Dahlin/Weegar

    Power/Kesselring

    JBD/ Novikov.

That group would be ~$1m more than what the Sabres ice after Timmins raise and keeping Samuelsson.  I would love to know if Adams actively tried to move JBD and received no offer.  Like every GM said hard pass.

I'm down for getting Weegar in here ..

I missed on Ehlers, again, but maybe the Sabres will trade Bo(hemian) for him.

    WEEGAR !!

Crazy season for SGA. One of the best individual nba seasons ever belongs to a Canadian

He just signed (reported anyway) the largest AAV contract in NBA history - over $71M per on a 4 year extension.  That's insane, but seems he is worth it.  OKC is on the map for sure and will be a contender for a decade.  He may end up being the greatest to ever play the game.

In other news .. looks like the Blue Jays are finally putting things together.

It is exactly 4 million x 2 years

    Well, that's just great.

The Sabres could have had DROUIN !! 😎 for 2 years for $8M and NS would have been vindicated after, what ??, 12 years.

    FIRE EVERYBODY !!

    Three years is interesting.

The idea of having an NHL blueliner at that wage for three years seems like a win for the Sabres.

Its only a win for Johnson if he fails to make the team.

Kinda the opposite of betting on yourself.

For an every day Joe that is fantastic money.  Right now Ryan is that everyday Joe in the NHL.  Almost $2.5M is a lot of money in a game where most never make it this far.  Good for him and good for the Sabres.  I like it.
