Got to love the up-tempo play by both teams..
That must have been 5 or 6 minutes without a whistle.
That was fun.
-
Puck handling and passing have been a little too cute this period.
First period you can keep it simple.
-
Neil looks like the only guy with any heart on that Ottawa club.
-
Damn, stupid play by Stafford.
Will Forte shoots it over the glass
-
Hell yeah, nice assist by Meszaros too :D
No Redden. and Meszaros and Phillips are skating in sand.
It could be a long night for Ottawa if they don't get their legs fast.
-
This is game 1 of 2 that puts an end to the Ottawa coaches' tenure. The job will be completed on Saturday night in from of their home town fans.
If there is a blowout, which I am not predicting, Muckler could be on the line, no?
I predict right on average Buffalo 4.7 Ottawa 3.2
Safe bet. As long as we are 18.9 % tonight on the power play.
-
I heard on WGR earlier that the reason for the distinction is because a player (cannot remember the name) born in Europe and moved to Canada at age eight has more games.
Not any player, Stan Mikita.
11 beat me two it.
-
Things are looking Sabrelicious...........
For all our sake, never use that one again. :D
-
Really skating well tonight.
Vanek seems to be drawing a least one penalty a game and scoring one a game.
-
Staring out like every game lately.. Good pressure by Sabres early.. We need our PP to start working
Some good work in the home end. Looks like the Sabres are skating well.
Just can't figure out why a Canadian Brewer would need to withstand Prohibition.
-
Per WGR, same team tonight as in Philly.. No Miller.. No Lydman.. Stafford and Card
Numinnen gets the game winner tonight... It's fate...
Go Teppo.
-
Drew had pretty limited ice time last night, while Gaustad, Briere, Vanek and Roy were getting extra time.
I am guessing that Drew has a sprained wrist.
It doesn't look like he can snap that 20 ft. wrister.
-
Can't take this one for granted.
There are going to be players playing for their NHL lives tonight in Philly.
(or not :)
-
The shootout guys and Lindy seemed to sugarcoat his performance, which made me wonder if I was being too harsh in thinking he wasn't on his game tonight. Glad others felt that way too...I don't want to have a one-man crusade against a player (not that anyone on here every does that...)
I didn't think Marty played badly.
The first and 4th goal he didn't have a chance.
The breakaway the guy made a good shot.
He played pretty well on the PK's.
I think Miller stops that breakaway shot. But you can't hang too much on Biron.
I thought that was one of Soupy's best games.
Not Spacek's best game.
I thought Gaustad played great and Vanek creates time out of nothing.

Only if he stays at the current pace. 111 pts would be worth the $5 million. 109? Run him out of town :nana:
 okidokee. 109 he hits the bricks.
-
What's wrong with Briere - only 19 pts in 14 games?
Maybe we can give that one a rest now.

x.... i really am excited to see the juggled lines. adrenaline is good for one game, so stafford and paille better be ready today... they basically have a work week off to prepare for florida after today. time to wash away last night's "experience".
man-love is not weird!
I am looking forward to seeing Stafford.
-
Lindy says the lines are:
Novotny- Drury-Kotalik
Hecht- Brier - Pominville
Vanek - Roy - Stafford
Paille - Maire - Gaustad
-
Guastad- Drury-Kotalik
Hecht- Brier - Pominville
Vanek - Roy - Stafford?
Paille - Maire - Novotny
Anybody have any ideas?
-
Stafford and Paille called up to play.
Cool.
-
-Lydman was brutal again, but this is the same way he started out last season before become very solid. Here's hoping for the same results as last year.
-Paetsch and Campbell should not be together. Put one with Teppo and the other with Kalinin.
The d pairings seemed out of synch for most of the game, esp. Lydman and Spacek
(perhaps Spacek's worst game?)
Of the 6 I thought Campbell and Paetsch played the best.

The reason he got the SHG out of the box, was that he was working a little too hard in his own end, in the first place.
I remember wondering why he charged in like that, it's not like the situation wasn't reasonably under control?
I liked that Vanek didn't celebrate the empty netter.
-
Kotalik had a great block at the end.
My stars:
1. Miller
2. Teppo
3. Tallinder
