  1. NO lead is safe the way the Sabres are playing in their own end ... I love the effort tonight but this is run-and-gun city ...

Never mind ... 6-1 should be safe ;) and on a very nice pass from Mr Trade Rumor Kotalik ...

I think we'll be alright Pipes.

    I think we'll be alright.

  2. Germans love David Hasselhoff!

You know I have heard this many times, but, the real question is where do guys

like Uwe Krupp or Jochin Hecht weigh in on this . If they are into the Knight Rider stuff,

okay, they were young then. If it was Baywatch, well okay, they were a little older then,

but if they are into his singing. They lose their swords.

  3. ... Or gerber/emery this year. To all ottawa fans its a no brainer - Muckler probably doesnt wanna admit he was a douchebag in signing goober though.

His comment to the Buffalo media was this:

There is a reason we were in a bidding war for him.

(Excuse me John, but it was a bidding war that you went out of your way to win!) :wallbash:

  4. I'm using those numbers because both goalies had the EXACT SAME TEAM in front of them. And to say it was Miller's rookie year? Marty is 2 years+ older than Miller, not a huge difference.

If I show up at the HSBC on Friday and Denis is in net without Biron being injured or tired.....I want my money back.

Denis probably had a hot AHL start because there is no book on him.

If I were to play against Biron right now, I would have the entire team throwing things at him from the goal line - or shooting high because he is going down to soon.

As for Denis, we will see how he looks once every team in the AHL has faced him once.

However I have never, and never will appreciate Marty for his goaltending, as he is simply not good enough and never will be.

    Good enough for what?

He is a back up goaltender. He gives the team a chance to win. Marty did not lose that game - the powerplay did. We'll call the Neil goal soft, okay, but the guy also stopped 3 breakaways when Ottawa got behind the defense.

I'm not saying the guy stood on his head. The guy is the backstop for a high risk - high reward style of play and the number 2. Overpaid or not that is another matter. I don't think he has been at the top of his game in the last week, or beyond critique, he hasn't been seeing the puck particularly well, but he has given the team chances to win.

What would you want as a number 2? Some malcontent that divides a locker room. Most of the Sens admit that they had a divided locker room last year with Hasek/Emery.

Keeping Mika last year wasn't the answer, that is pretty obvious from the value that Vancouver got out of the guy - he wasn't going to compete for the job - he voted with his feet.

Who's ready for Dennis if Miller can't go on Friday? I am.

Separately, it might be time to reshuffle the Drury-Novotny-Kotalik line. They just seem completely ineffective on 5-on-5 offense.

I didn't like Dennis Miller on Monday, so I don't think I would like him on Friday.

I don't think Biron lost this game. I thought he let in some soft ones in Carolina, but getting beat from the point on deflections - well that's just hockey. If you watch that Neil shot that he got beat on from the goal line , I would say that was a great shot. Marty played well enough to win in my opinion.

As far as the loss itself, it is hard to be gnashing teeth too much. More than Marty I think there has to be some focus on the power play. Passing up the good shot for the perfect shot one too many times is not the way to play a goalie that has seen limited action in two weeks. There were about 3 quality shots a period that were passed up - I actually thought Stafford had it right, put it on net - which led to a Vanek goal.

The Sens still have a ton of talent. Hard to get too upset about this one, but at the same time, it was the kind of game that does expose the margin between wins and losses.
