  1. Chad Johnson cost us the game. This goalie is just aweful. A worse rebound machine I have never seen in the NHL.Frankly I hate him and would love to have either of Linback, Enroth or Neuvirth instead of him.

I know it's just opinions but how did Johnson cost us the game. He gave up a breakaway and a PP goal. That not costing anyone anything.
  2. And?

I didn't see him make any saves that I thought any goalie wouldn't have made. I thought Tamps's D and forwards did a great job of never giving our guys any space to make a play.

It just seems like saying that Bishop was the difference gives the rest of their play a pass.

I think most people watching that game think Bishop stole.  Its your opinion though, there isn't a game stealing stat for goalies

  3. Busy tonight? Maybe there's a young lady involved?

Remember -- find out what the lady wants and then order for the both of you. It's a classy move.

    Find out what she wants.

    Order it for you only.

    Order her a garden salad.

Don't let her eat off your plates.

Give her a wtf stare if she tries to put dressing on the salad

    Chicks dig a jerk!!!!

  4. PHam reporting Legwand is sitting tonight.

    Sabres' lines: O'Reilly-Girgensons-Ennis, Kane-Eichel-Gionta, Moulson-Larsson-McGinn, Deslauriers-Reinhart-Foligno. Legwand scratched.

Sabres' defense: Gorges-Ristolainen, McCabe-Pysyk, Weber-Franson. Colaiacovo scratched. Chad Johnson and Roberto Luongo in net.

Reinhart with some serious protection there.

I wish we could put reinhart with larsson and moulson, then let foligno center (gross) des and mcginn

  5. Belief #1 - Pegula has been a secret Sabres fan his whole life, made his billions in oil, and when the Sabres came on the market he swooped in and got his toy. Now Pegula and his plucky wife are trying to turn the city of Buffalo around!

Belief #2 - Pegula has been a casual fan most of his life. He made his billions in a industry that requires millions of dollars of lobbying just to keep regulations at bay, and is at risk of a bombshell environmental health disaster report to be unleashed any given year. His trusted associates advise him to diversify his assets. He makes a large donation to Penn State and then hears word that a massive child sex scandal is about to break out. It would be tough to romance politicians when you're even five degrees from a pedophilia case. Someone alerts him that the nearby Sabres have been secretly shopped around since 2008 or 2009 and they see an opportunity to gain the good graces of the state and local community, while getting a bargain. Pegula buys the Sabres and is seen as a savior. He then purchases the Americans, Bills, and starts the Harbor Center project. He is primed to expand and monetize his One Buffalo brand with a terrific PR reputation.

Guys, I'm not Drane obviously, I don't think I'm funny enough to pretend to be. He alludes to Pegula and Benson somehow being involved and trying to cover up the scandal. Maybe there's some truth to that, who knows, but I'm not going that far.

However, in my eyes, I think Pegula saw Buffalo and the Sabres as a lifeboat, rather than a dream team. I know people don't want to hear it and want their Santa Claus, but to my dying day I'll never believe that a billionaire fracker has nothing but love in his heart for a city and their sports teams, and is willing to throw his money into the wind. I just have a feeling we're going to see everything differently in 5-10 years.

I make plenty of assumptions in my post above, but that's what I believe based on the information I have. Sorry if it offends people.

Those aren't even assumptions, just imagination.  Very creative though and interesting you think that way

  6. This is Kasdorf's 4th year at R.P.I. so I don't think he is a freshman. His sv% last year was .902 and he went 11-19-2 with a 2.97 GAA. Phillips went 28-9-2 with a .933 sv% and a 1.74 GAA average in his 3rd year. Who would you go after in a trade?

No offense ducky, but it sounds like its safe to assume you have never seen kasdorf play a game in the ncaa. He had an amazing freshman year and suffered a severe injury at the start of his second year.

And if I was just picking goalies off stats with no consideration of team/talent/potential, then I would click http://www.collegehockeynews.com/stats/overall-goalie.php?s=20142015 and choose any of the top statistical goalies (virtually all without nhl affiliates) and pick one of them.

My only point is none of us know how kasdorf will be, so I don't really get the putting him down comments. That's all, no biggie. And I'm sure if Murray and our scouts had the choice between goalies, their scouting reports pointed towards kasdorf. That's fair to assume, they didn't pick him randomly or because they had his stars upside down

  7. I guess I just don't get it. I can't fathom taking an infant to a sporting event. It just seems inappropriate. I could see if the child is old enough to enjoy it, but when they don't even know what is going on is there even a point?

They don't know what is going on with anything,  doesn't mean you dont want to do stuff with them :P

  8. To the learned:

I have an observation that's neither praise nor criticism. Is my observation correct?

Kane is a different cat. I am used to seeing five guys perform as a unit and I anticipate each as the game plays out. When Kane's on the ice, I see an uber talent creating by himself and four others positioning to be successful situationally as he creates.

This isn't criticism! In fact, his singlemindedness is refreshing.

Am I on to something? If so, do we encourage this and ride its uniqueness? Who does he compare to?

While I'm not drawing any comparison, I had the same style feel when watching Ovechkin, especially early in Ovi's career.

I think you absolutely correct and it can be a good or bad thing for sure. As long as the coaches and his line mates understand it and find ways to take advantage of it, then it can be a strength

  9. No I don't know but nobody else is making that trade to acquire an out for the season Kane. He gift wrapped the deal.

I compare Murray to one of stupidest shows on TV - Storage Wars. They all bid on a unit. At the end the highest bidder acts like a bad ass because the other bidders decided it was too overpiced. I think Murray is Dave Hester - YUUUUP!!

You are in a fantasy land my man. You have no idea about the negotiations but think you know enough of the texts to compare it. You know zero facts and you have zero credibility with this. Keep ranting though, it's one of the points of a forum!
