As Hogue was a BIG negative, that would make it a positive, right?
He was part of the Stars team that beat the Sabres for the Cup in '99.

Did someone in this thread compare Kassian to Lucic?
I hope not.

Shocking! 75% of the teams in the conference championships have won SC's in the past. :o
You do realize that 19 (of 30) teams have previously won (or at least been awarded) Stanley Cups, right? If we discount the past 4 expansion teams, that's 19 of 26. Which, is 73%. So, a completely random sample of teams other than those from the latest round of expansion would result in 73% of the competitors having won a SC in the past. 75% is as close to 73% as we can get choosing 8 teams. That is what statistically is expected.
Clearly, that 6 out of 8 is PROOF that parity doesn't exist. <_<
And, 24 of 30 (80% of all) teams have previously been in the SCF's. If we throw out the most recent version of expansion teams again, EVERYBODY but Phoenix Arizona and San Jose have been in the finals before. AKA, 92% of all teams not counting the most recent expansion. We had 7 out of 8 teams (88%) in the CF's that had been to a SC before. Again, it is what would statistically be expected.
And, along those previous lines, clearly, that 7 out of 8 is PROOF that parity doesn't exist. <_<
:P
Whoa! Shut it down

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but Ruff hired James Patrick to be an assistant in Dallas...
-
A) Pittsburgh is successful because they won a lottery to get 89
B) Dupuis and Stafford are about equal in their roles on the team and contract is similar
C) Neal.'s contract befits a number 3 forward as it should
Think you made my point
Who is 89?

All bow down for Zemgus :worthy:
I know, right?
Remember when everyone was drooling over Z. Kassian?
Now, there's a new Z.

Should be setting up the cave around the same time. Mid September.
Very nice! I'd love to see updates once you get it going!

No! Those bastards! House Hunters, Property Virgins, bunch of false advertisements!
My realitor just called me back, they accepted. Complaint officially withdrawn.
Congrats man.
I just went through the same thing, back and forth with the offers. Aggravating. Finally, we made a deal.
In 45-60 days, I could be building my Sabres man-cave, as long as the lawyers don't screw it up...

i believe what they did not say, probably because they assume ppl know, is that Myers has been in Buffalo this summer working out. I am not sure for how long or if he is still there but I saw something on twitter a month ago about how Myers was in Buffalo. Don't remember who or the context but I am guessing that is what those two goofs are referring to.
We are going to see a better Myers under Rolston, than we did under Ruff.

Didn't read.
Not surprised.

Well, my original post was about stafford being a bum. Then, it was how Stafford and Vanek are big sexy boyz that don't throw their weight around.
Now, it's how paul kruse has a better point per game average.
All while making you livid irate insane angry, bucko.
I am far from livid, irate, insane, or angry. I could care less about your opinions.
Since you joined this board, you have offered nothing of substance. At least your posts could be witty, or amusing, but you have failed there as well thus far.
As I said earlier, I wish I could have some of whatever you are on. It is much easier in life to not have to think, than it is to have a fully functioning brain processing actual thoughts.
"Mr. Kruse, what you just said is the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard. At no point in your incoherent rambling response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. We are all now dumber for having had listened to it. I award you no points and may GoDD have mercy on your soul."

Dude, Rob ray had a way worse point per game average. Dur.
He especially mad.
Relax. We are still talking hockey.
What exactly are you trying to convey that is hockey-related in this thread?
-
Thats last years. ESPN and sabres.com both say Stafford weighs more than Vanek, genius.
You people are too easy.
Have there been any seasons since 2012-13? Idiot.
Also, when is ESPN the God of hockey info? When is the last time you saw quality hockey highlights there?
If you want to get technical about something as petty as player weights, Wiki has Vanek weighing more than Stafford.
Go get traded for Dawe or something.
Sounds like you have a firm grip on the trivial and petty minded, while entirely missing the big picture. There's no need to get hostile over stupid things like weight.
And what is your "big picture?" Regier inheriting a hard-working team from Muckler, but somehow never witnessing a hard-working team?
Was he not a part of Islanders and Whalers teams that were mostly devoid of star-talent?

had to Google it.

If you read The Game by Ken Dryden, you'll find about 627 ways to use it in a sentence...haha

Wrong.
Wrong?
Let me help you out, genius. Here is a copy of last season's media guide:
http://downloads.sabres.nhl.com/other/201213MediaGuide/1213-MediaGuide-Complete.pdf
When you get done looking at it, let me know who weighs more, Stafford or Vanek.
-
The're both 6'2. Vanek is like 205, if stafford aint 225, hes at least 215.
They your butt buddies you got nicknames for them.
Staff weighs less than TVParty.
-
that was 14 years ago.
Right. And you said:
"I don't think after 17 years he understands that blue collar character that Buffalo fans can get behind."
So, what is your point?

So ever since I moved to Rochester in 2007 I've been living right next to a little gem of a museum and never checked it out until today.
The New York Transportation Museum in Henrietta is well worth the admission fee, especially if you have kids. There's a good selection of old train cars, and you can take a trolley ride about two miles down to the old Industry depot and see some more.
I felt just like a little kid again and the volunteers working there are more than happy to chew your ear off about anything and everything train related.
It's a low key little operation that is open only on Sundays year round, and they do special events every other weekend or two, so there's always something to bring you back.
It stirred something from my Thomas the Tank Engine days and I immediately asked if they needed any help, to which they said we could use anyone under 50 to help in the restoration shop, special events, etc. Sign me up!

Wow...I have lived in Rochester my entire life, and have never even heard of this place!
Sounds pretty cool...

So the Ducks are going to wear the Mighty Ducks jerseys at least once this season. Life is complete again.
Kenan Thompson is stoked.

I was reading the great book about roller hockey "Wheelers, Dealers, Pucks and Bucks." They were writing about the 1994 champion Buffalo Stampede and their character. They said that the Stampede wasn't built on finesse and great goaltending but on brawn and bad behavior.
Over the years I think Darcy has got these types of flawed skill players like Stafford who stay on the perimeter and don't like to mix it up.
Darcy doesn't get it...he is an elitist. I don't think after 17 years he understands that blue collar character that Buffalo fans can get behind.
I felt that the 1999 Cup Finals team was a blue collar team. Darcy was there. He saw what they were capable of, and how much the area got behind that team.
