  1. My take was minimal this season - 1 bottle of Southern Tier Cuvee Series 3. I did however get to upgrade the brewery! It's now all electric with 3 stainless kettles and 2 ranco temp controllers and a march pump. I can now brew inside all year long. No more freezing while brewing a triple decoction czech pils in the winter. As a side note - maybe the brewers here could swap a couple of brews? I have the usual pils (kegged) and my version of yuengling ready to keg. I also have a Helles in primary. While putting together the new system I haven't kept my kegs full. When we play columbus make sure to check out Barleys. It's right near the arena and the beer/food is pretty good. The Elevator is cool to visit but the beer is sub-par.
  2. Some pics of the pre-season game @ columbus

  3. I've made a few melomels but haven't in a few years. Maybe I'll make a black-raspberry mead this year. Sabres fans are always welcome!
  4. Another homebrewer and beer judge here. I try to drink the local craft beer wherever I am at. Just got back from a trip to Maine and had several excellent brew out there. At home I usually have 5 kegs on tap - a czech pils, a pale ale, an IPA, a dry stout and usually have my version of Yuengling. Selection varies but that's the usual suspects. Victory Prima Pils is a favorite. Sams Adams or anything from Great Lakes will do when I'm out and there is nothing more interesting on the list. We are finally starting to see some Southern Tier in Ohio. Hop Sun is probably my favorite beer that they brew. I typically stay away from beer with fruit and/or spices - just don't care for them. Stopped at the brewpub near the arena last time I was in Buffalo for a game and had a decent IPA.
  5. I brew beer, watch hockey and play golf. That's it.
