  1.

Tampa Bay:  Another team where fans seem to surface only when they're winning.  (That goes for all three of the sports in the Bay Area, actually.)

    So ###### 'em all.

Agree on the Rays and Bucs but not on the Lightning. Considering the Bay Area is full of transplants, the Lightning actually have a pretty rabid fan base.

And the Rays would do a lot better if they built a stadium closer to downtown Tampa or out by I-75 to get the Orlando fans.

  2. Whatever the heck Zay Jones was drinking when he was rambling about God while naked in that hotel with his brother when he tried to jump through a window on whatever floor he was on.

Someone posted a clip of it on this board a while back (not sure but it was in the last 6 months).

I remember the incident, but I thought it was attributed to a reaction to prescription drugs ? What does that have to do with the rest of the team ?

  3. I haven't seen it but I get most of my Bills news from this board. Not exactly a surprise though. Every player on the roster will be drinking the kool aid soon enough. Let's just hope they don't all react like Zay Jones did or McCarron will have to start boning up on his exorcism techniques instead of learning how to go through progressions.

    Drinking what kool-aid ? I must've missed something.

  4. The internet says one is from San Mateo and the other is from Chico.

Chico is northern Cal, San Mateo is near SF.

I don't know. I did a quick search and saw a story from 2014 that talks about his professing to be an atheist.

More to the point, did this disqualify him in the owner's eyes? It's a fair question given his public statements about the faith of people he's hired.

No chance - his fragility disqualified him IMO.

  5. Time for some Josh Allen optimism - supposedly the release time on his genuinely good (when his feet are set) throwing motion is in Tom Brady territory. And that's one of my favorite Tom Brady traits.

And watching any film I can get, it's clear that with the proper footwork, he does throw accurately. Accuracy issues that stem from your feet and hips are easily the most correctable ones. And he's already been working on it for months, apparently, having identified the problem.

He's so, so raw and I would happily let him sit for a season and a half, or even two, especially if he has to learn Erhardt-Perkins. Our line and offense in general is a mess. We'll likely experience an on field lull next year and the year after getting these guys (and that wonderful piece of human Edmunds, who I am incredibly excited about) coached up. That could lead to some high picks and greater talent being added at the top of the draft, and then all of a sudden, with 100 million in cap space, we'll be SB contenders, with the tightest locker room in the league, guys that play for each other and this city and not themselves.

At least, that's the plan. They definitely have one, and have been sticking to it this whole time. It's better than anything I've seen this franchise do in my lifetime before it.

Great post - that's the spirit. Edmunds is a beast at 6'5'" and Phillips is a great pick. Here's to more success today.

  6. Trading up to draft a high risk quarterback who isn't even going to play this year seems crazier and crazier every minute. Who could we have picked at 12 instead who would start this year? How much draft capital did we give up for nothing? Couldn't we have just drafted a QB next year?

Who did you have in mind if we finish 6-10, 7-9, etc ?
