  1. Totally agree, and along the lines of finding an example, one did come to mind and in checking out the basic stats, it's somewhat interesting, and I hope not predictive: Sam Reinhart: First 203 NHL GP = 0.22 Goals/Game, 0.28 Assists/Game, 0.48 Points/Game Former Sabre: First 212 NHL GP = 0.22 Goals/Game, 0.30 Assists/Game, 0.51 Points/Game Remainder of Career 335 NHL GP = 0.14 Goals/Game, 0.24 Assists/Game, 0.39 Points/Game I.e. he dropped from a 42 point/season guy to a 32 point/season guy after the first 2-3 years. It's Brian Holzinger
  2. It's totally not a thing. Sorry, needed to vent. I hated every freaking second that useless guy was on the ice for the Sabres and now he has 4 goals in 16 games in Montreal. Like Shaller and Grant and so many others it just galls me how bad dudes play in Buffalo and then perform 1000% better somewhere else. This season sucks.
  3. What about Nolan over 4 goal scorer Nic Deslauriers? I don't think so.
  4. I'd just like to add that Nic Deslauriers has four goals this season. I look forward to Johan Larsson's 18 goal season next year playing for San Jose. That is all.
  5. I'd go Ellen DeGeneres for a female addition. Not a porn star so far as I know.
  6. Sorry, I overreacted at the end of a long day. Einstein is probably #2 in terms of mis-attributed quotes after Mark Twain, maybe just ahead of Yogi Berra.
  7. Dennis Miller, Johnny Cash, Robin Williams, Will Smith, Bill Murray
  8. I don't give a as I didn't attribute it but you got my point nonetheless. I fully understand it's not the dictionary definition of the word insanity.
  9. At some point that definition of insanity kicks in and expecting something different to happen from the same set of inputs isn't the way to go. He's showing nothing so far as a pro so might as well see if he can get back to what made him a Top 10 draft pick and then take that back to the A again.
  10. Reinhart skated 11:05. Did he get hurt or just benched?
  11. I thought it was a Bruins home game when I turned it on in the 3rd until I noticed the WNY ads on the boards. Pathetic franchise right now.
  12. I suggest to not take that stuff so personally. He ran into the goalie. No need to go Capone on it:
  13. Kane wasn't here then, Lucic has moved teams twice, Ryan Miller has moved teams three times. Time to move on.
  14. Almost as disappointing as Nylander's season. (Actually, it's worse. Why would they not cover a professional sports hometown team?)
  15. Great year...may you have many more like this!
  16. That's the case. He's a great player, but not generational/elite. Doesn't appear to have the focus or drive, or the super high end hand/eye coordination the elite guys like Crosby, McDavid, Stamkos, Ovechkin, etc have.
  17. I managed to give away two seats via this board to the Amerks game tonight. For the Sabres you may need to throw in some food & drink coupons.
  18. GIves me hope for Buffalo longer term with the same architect for both teams.
  19. Tickets are now taken!
  20. Just bumping this...tickets still available...cost the same as my opinions but have much more value!
  21. I should add that Anaheim is 22nd in the league in goals scored, so a far more powerful offensive team than the Sabres. Seriously though, this is like Schaller, Ruhwedel, and Byron...guys who can't cut it whatsoever in Buffalo become useful players elsewhere. I mean, good for them of course but when does that happen in reverse? Off the top of my head I can't recall anyone in recent years. Maybe Justin Falk could be there if he stayed in the Top 6 but he can't even do that on the worst blueline in the NHL so maybe not. edit: Thought of one - Nilsson last year, but only for the 1 year. (He's doing well this year too...)
  22. Derek Grant just potted his 6th of the year tonight. More than Reinhart and Okposo. Stew on that for awhile.
  23. The movie was alright but the show was pretty good especially after they got settled down and did some character development by season 2. Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona was incredible. Her acting was OK too. Jeffery Donovan was good. Great supporting cast highlighted by Sharon Gless (Cagney from Cagney & Lacey) and rotating villains.
  24. I loved him in Burn Notice, an underappreciated show in my book.
  25. If anyone can use two tickets to this Friday's game in Rochester vs. Toronto, send me a message. They are good seats. I think I can email the PDF's. We decided to stay home with the new dog instead :-)
