I have a brother in law who thinks once you have an opinion on something if you change your mind it makes you a hypocrite. He doesn't grasp that educated, intelligent people make opinions based on observations and available information, and with more observations and information opinions can change. He also has an eighth grade education, has never held a steady job and constantly asked my wife for money. That's who you remind me of when it comes to Mitts. You've never liked him and you never will, production be damned.

I just reread this. I did not mean to imply you're unintelligent, I know you are. Apologies if it came across that way. I just find your seemingly unwavering stance (at least to me) a bit curious.

I think Benson is a lock and Mitts is pretty iffy due to the likely cost to keep him (which I think is inflated relative to his actual value).

Ya Greenway to me was a deadline deal

Edit: yes, it was on deadline day like I mentioned

The trade deadline is in season, still alot of hockey afterwards. Semantics, I guess, carry on. 🤪

  4. My Wife and I play every Friday. We actually play with a member of the Predators staff and his wife once a month when possible, our wives met at a zumba class and became friends. That's how I knew the Preds were blowing up their roster before it happened.

I think Granato is drawn to 11-7 because the Sabres have 7 solid defensemen.  You are looking at it as half empty that the two extra forwards barely play; I look at is as half full that bubble players are getting a chance at limited minutes in the NHL.  Even contenders see this situation occasionally, and it's a good way to get prospects some limited NHL experience so that they can better fill a real NHL billet later on.

Regarding 11-7, I'm personally not a fan of it. When Schenn came off LTIR Nashville started running 11-7, they just won their 6th straight game.

THIS season, it is unlikely, but not impossible that he'll make a move or 2 prior to the deadline.

In future seasons, he's going to have to start to make moves on the same sort of timelines as the rest of the league because his treasure trove of prospects are going to start to become waiver eligible and the team will actually have to being to consider possibly having to navigate the salary cap.  But he might get away with moves of a similar scale and timeline as this past summer for 1 more year.  (Haven't looked closely at when some of the younger guys start becoming waiver eligible, not sure how long everybody in system has been under contract.)

Moves, yes. I fully expect he moves an expiring asset or two, but I think the return will be picks, not players.

Ya, Jost was a waiver claim. So I was wrong about him.

But I still maintain we won’t see a trade in season before the deadline. Likely ever. You have to think, there’s few trades league wide in general during that time. Not until deadline usually. You DO see some moves and you CAN make them but their rarity illustrates even the more neutral GMs (patient vs aggressive wise) aren’t generally making trades during the time period. And I think it’s fair to say our GM leans a little bit away from neutral on that scale

I agree with you about this year. I'm hesitant to attach the word "ever" to it though. I think he'll add the the team is ready to compete for the cup, and I think we're still a couple years away from that.

The Sabres aren’t going to add anyone in-season before the trade deadline, and never will, as long as Adams is the GM

Not saying this to make a point about Adams or anything, it’s just true.

He’s not proactive. He’s barely active.

He’s “in discussions” with a fair few players, and social media is sure to make sure the fans know this, but that knowledge is the endgame, in itself

The Kevyn Adams Buffalo Sabres are very much, distinctly that. The Kevyn Adams Buffalo Sabres. They are their own distinct version of this franchise and have hardline rules notably different from before

Greenway and Jost were added in season last year. The bolded is a bold lie. What are you doing?  I don’t think he'll add anyone this year either, but what are you doing?

Honestly….. I’d still kick all the young guys off my team if it meant we could make the playoffs this year. I forgive any fan for lacking the “patience” to wait on the one prospect among every 5 or so that actually lives up to expectations..why hold it against the fans? You can’t understand why they’d be more inclined to favour results in the now? The way young players develop, or don’t, hasn’t changed in 13 years. Some have, some haven’t. We still haven’t won.

Fans are a product of the experience, when compelled to remain loyal to a product when in almost every other consumer case they’d simply move on. But sports are a cruel animal. I’m sure you’d get more patience with development once we ever actually develop into a winning team. The lack of happiness with developing players is merely a reflection to the actual results team wide never arriving - it’s not hard to understand that

I do understand that. I don't think there's a right or wrong way to be a fan. I don't insist that people feel as I feel, say as I say, do as I do. As I said, to each their own.

You should ABSOLUTELY take a victory lap even if it’s early. I try to do it whenever I can lmao

It’s just that there’s a certain segment of fans who’s bread and butter is to “Steph Curry” any time anything good ever happens to Buffalo, as if they are the better fans because we, wrongly, had gotten upset at points along the way about things not going well when they, you can be sure, never doubted a solitary thing

I don't think I could live with myself if I acted like that. I'm a big enough ***** as it is, I'd be positively unbearable 😀

Where is the proof of any of this? Losers on the internet make up rumours and people just blindly believe it.

Of course, I only mean if it's true.

Absolutely. And as I said in an earlier post up thread, he gets all my praise for his emerging improvement and we all hope it continues.

But for anyone to insist that those of us who rightfully criticized his piss poor play previously owe him an apology for that criticism is absurd. These twitter X zealots posting their apology forms have short memories and should better acquaint themselves with the facts of Oopie’s entire body of work to date.

As his biggest and longest supporter, I've never asked anyone to apologize or said they were wrong to doubt him, just respectfully disagreed. I wanted to trade him, Savoie, Benson(the pick, didnt know it would be Benson), + for Saros in the summer.

It’s cringe worthy but whatever makes his pp hard.

YMMV on that. You know what's much more common on here? Young player struggles, majority say, "this player sucks! Get him off my team! I don't care what you get for him I just want him gone!"  A little time goes by and depending on if he's turned it around its either, "SEE! I WAS RIGHT, HE SUCKS!! FIRE EVERYBODY!!!, or, "I've never been so happy to be wrong about a player".  To me that's a miserable way to go through life and kind of pathetic. Again, YMMV, it's a message board, to each their own and all that.

In fairness, I've updated his stats/numbers, I haven't come on here proclaiming how smart I am or that others are stupid for doubting him, so don't make it out to be something it's not.

Also, he's been a different goalie since I've started calling him 6K, get on board.

Also also, my calves are better than yours! 😝

UP-Luu had what was probably his best game as a pro tonite.

Let's hope he can find some consistency and string together a solid chunk of games.

Their playoff hopes depend on it.

What are you talking about? 6K has been consistent all year. The two starts he lost were against Pittsburgh and Philly the 2nd. If you watched those two games you know The whole team played like dogshit. Hayek himself couldn't have won those games, let alone 6K. He was spectacular tonight and against Colorado and Philly the 1st. Good to very good in the other four.
