  1. Yes, it is free speech. She was not arrested or cited, her civil liberties were not infringed upon. Her employer determined that the act was inappropriate in the work place and/or decided that such people are not who that want representing them. Absolutely nothing to do with "free speach"
  2. I agree with you. It puzzles me that so many people are so adamant are adamant about removing Trump by any means necessary, making Vance president. I think just as devious as Trump, but smarter. Careful what you wish for...
  3. Interesting times. I wonder if the NG will be conducting law enforcement operations or if they're be working with ICE in a supporting role.
  4. Bad day for Bolton
  5. I'm slowly coming to the realization the only way this invasion will end is if we commit troops on the ground over there. If it comes to that I hope it's a NATO effort.
  6. Texas passes redistricting maps https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2025/08/20/its-done-texas-finally-passes-new-congressional-maps-n2662119
  7. Reporting is that Trump will host a sit down with Putin and Zelenskyy, hopefully a peace treaty will soon follow.
  8. It seems the tone of this thread is different than president Zelenskyy. We had a long and substantive conversation with @POTUS We started with one-on-one talks before inviting European leaders to join us. This call lasted for more than an hour and a half, including about an hour of our bilateral conversation with President Trump. Ukraine reaffirms its readiness to work with maximum effort to achieve peace. President Trump informed about his meeting with the Russian leader and the main points of their discussion. It is important that America’s strength has an impact on the development of the situation. We support President Trump’s proposal for a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the USA, and Russia. Ukraine emphasizes that key issues can be discussed at the level of leaders, and a trilateral format is suitable for this. On Monday, I will meet with President Trump in Washington, D.C., to discuss all of the details regarding ending the killing and the war. I am grateful for the invitation. It is important that Europeans are involved at every stage to ensure reliable security guarantees together with America. We also discussed positive signals from the American side regarding participation in guaranteeing Ukraine’s security. We continue to coordinate our positions with all partners. I thank everyone who is helping.
  9. Mexico extradited 26 more cartel members to America for prosecution. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/mexico-under-pressure-trump-transfers-26-more-cartel-members-us-2025-08-12/
  10. Political posturing/grandstanding, I think the right wing eats it up. Newsome is hated by many and an easy target. I don't believe trump is vying for a third term, I think he's worried about the midterms. If the left gets the house they'll spend the next two years trying to impeach him, and there's valid reasons to do so.
  11. It's okay. I don't mind that you have different views than I, won't tell you you're wrong, and won't judge you for having them.
  12. Another three judge panel where out of 11 judges, seven democratic appointees and four republican appointees, two of the minority four are on it. How are these judges selected to sit on the panels? Appeals court allows Trump administration to resume foreign aid cuts The Hill, by Zack Schofeld A federal appeals court voted 2-1 on Wednesday to lift an order requiring the Trump administration to resume billions of dollars in foreign aid payments. The divided U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit panel found a lower judge erred when he restored the flow of funds in March. Two groups of grant recipients sued over allegations the cancellations infringe on the separation of powers since Congress had appropriated the money, but the panel ruled they can’t bring such a claim. https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/5450232-appeals-court-lifts-aid-order/amp/
  13. I laugh because I find the hyperbolic fear mongering funny? I take it as seriously as the 51st state nonsense.
  14. I'm with you on the "liberating" . It's safe to say we have differing views on what constitutes a riot. Let's agree to disagree on that one.
  15. In the article ICE claims that the mothers made the decision to take their children with them, for whatever that's worth. One mother wrote a note saying so, she says it was written under duress. ICE also claimed the ensured Honduras could meet the medical needs of the cancer patient. It will be interesting to see how the lawsuit plays out.
  16. To be clear, I do not support the use of the NG in DC. I acknowledged that Trump is the commander of the DCNG and has discretion to use them, but i don't agree with the decision. As stated upthread, I did support trumps decisions in quelling the LA riots.
  17. I completely agree with you. One minor quibble - according to local NBC DC police is under internal investigation for altering their crime stats. I'm with you on Trump hammering blue states because he's petty. “When our members respond to the scene of a felony offense where there is a victim reporting that a felony occurred, inevitably there will be a lieutenant or a captain that will show up on that scene and direct those members to take a report for a lesser offense,” Fraternal Order of Police Chairman Gregg Pemberton said. “So, instead of taking a report for a shooting or a stabbing or a carjacking, they will order that officer to take a report for a theft or an injured person to the hospital or a felony assault, which is not the same type of classification.” The police department's command staff is focusing on two categories in order to get the numbers to fall, Pemberton said: armed with a dangerous weapon and injured person to the hospital. “When management officials are directing officers to take reports for felony assault, or if they're going back into police databases and changing offenses to felony assault, felony assault is not a category of crime that's listed on the department's daily crime stats,” Pemberton said. “It's also not something that's a requirement of the FBI's uniform crime reporting program. So, by changing criminal offenses from, for example, ADW bat or ADW gun to felony assault, that would avoid both the MPD and the FBI from reporting that as a part one or a felony offense.” https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/dc-police-commander-suspended-crime-statistics/3959566/
  18. Calling the riots "disinformation" is dishonest.
  19. People like to scream MAGA!!!! Trump has his base, but it's not big enough to swing the election. On November 5th did every swing state not have more registered democrats than Republicans? Enough of them either voted for Trump or didn't care enough to vote at all, that's the uncomfortable truth.
  20. Good question, you should ask one.
  21. Protest? No. Riots? Only when local law enforcement refuses to. I'm guessing Trump's decision in LA was influenced by the democratic leadership in Portland allowing antifa to riot for, what was it, over three months straight? Does anything Trump does surprise you? Me neither. So why were democrats stupid enough to put him into office a second time?
