lol some of you guys really react poorly to losses. They won't be picking top 10, relax.

My uncle texts me after every big loss something along the lines of “I can’t believe you think this team is moving in the right direction, could make the playoffs, etc.”

My personal favorite is “this team would get destroyed by the 99 team” because the Sabres are likely a Stanley cup favorite with prime Hasek between  the pipes playing 60-70 games per year.

Similarly to this it drives me nuts. And he has nothing to add to the conversation. I don’t need it to even be positive. But just add something…anything…other than basically “haha, we suck and you’re a loser”

I know Devon Levi is our savior in net. But that can take some time, even when he arrives it might take 2 years or so for Devon to realize his immense potential.

We need solutions in net and NOW.

Why not Thatcher Demko?  3 more years at 5M AAV after this season.

We have the cap room, Demko can handle a big load of starts, and by the time his contract is towards the end, Levi will be ready to take the reigns.

Let's get Demko and Luke Schenn.

Calm down this is a family page.

Agree.  It would be great to make it this year so for many reason, I just want to end this playoff draught and take our first round beating so that Adams can see what is really needed.

I am drinking the koolaide. I think we’re on to something.

I think it will be tough sledding for this team to make the playoffs and win a series in the same year. I’d love to get the monkey off of our backs now and be able to slightly raise expectations in the 23/24 season.

Dahlin played 25:57 and finished even in +/- which is saying a lot when you give up 5 even strength goals.

Today was men against boys and the boys got schooled.

Buffalo is a boarderline playoff team.  They might get there, but in the eastern conference the top 6 teams are way beyond 7 and 8.

Good post. I keep having the Sabres playoff conversation and friends just chirp me after games like this.

I don’t think the Sabres are world beaters. They’re a middling team in a log jam of other middling teams for the 7-8 seed. None of which I think are hands down better than the others.

Sabres are one and done in the playoffs and not close at all. If somehow we could push Boston to a game 6, that would be incredible. But like are out in 4 maaaybe 5.

IF they take 24 points over this stretch, they are the team the others are chasing.

19-20 points keep them solidly in the mix.

If we collect 5 of the next 10 points this month we’re right there in the 7/8 seed and it’s ours to lose going forward.

I agree, 24/32 feels aggressively high just to “stay alive”. They’d be firmly in the drivers seat at that point.

Consider cutting the cable chord PA.   Youtube TV has all the basic cable crap on it, including local channels, for about $65, not $200.   You do need to have  good wifi in your house for it to be worthwhile.  I assume your internet provider has good service and you have a good router to get a strong wifi signal?

If you don't have a newer Smart TV that plays these Apps you can buy a Roku or a Firestick for about $30 bucks to stream the apps - you just connect it to a spare HDMI input on your TV.

I get your concerns but technology moves on and you either get caught up or stay behind forever.

I don't believe Youtube TV has MSG, or am I wrong on that? As somebody who lives in the capital region, Fubo has fit the bill pretty well for me for that reason. They don't have TNT, but I don't really need it much and I have Kodi on my firestick to watch whatever I want.

I cut the cord forever ago and I hate it. Well I hate the cost of consuming TV in general. For all the crying everybody did 20 years ago to piece out their cable subscriptions for "stuff I want", the cost is astronomical. $65 for Fubo/Youtube plus Netflix, Hulu, ESPN, Paramount, Peacock, Apple TV, etc. I pay waaaaay more now for "cable" than I ever did when I just went through Spectrum, Time Warner, DirecTV etc.

    Still ... NO !!

If they start to play better again against the Ducks and Sharks they will be back on track.

There are ups and downs for just aboout every team in the NHL during an 82 game season.  The Sabres will be fine and will be playing meaningful hockey throughout March.  When was the last time that happened?

I was just having this conversation the other day after they looked Schitt's Creek after the ASG. It is a long season, this isn't the NFL, the playoffs are a sum of 82 games, not a "what-if" once per week like the Bills. As long as the Sabres can play .600 hockey it will be OK.

The way we play clunkers, especially at home, drives me nuts.

The other thing is notice how the collars on all the other ones are not white? That would have been better too.

That thin blue line around the neck in the photo of Dahlin is actually he top of the collar.  So, the collar isn't completely white.

I think part of it is that most other teams white jerseys have a full color shoulder and/or sleeves not just an insignia. This one has the blue basically under the armpit then nothing until the wrist/cuff. On TV the entire jersey gets washed out on the ice in part because of it.

I like the jersey otherwise, like on its own/on a hanger. Just the pants plus how it presents on TV from above aren't great.
