    Holy overreactions Batman

Im with you fine folks, I’m hurting from this one. I know.

but let’s see how they adjust. Still lots of hockey left.

I was with you. But I think this is part of the frustration. Adjusting or lack there of.

We need to get better with working the puck low to high from behind the net in the offensive zone. We just can’t do it. We also seem totally hell bent on working the rush through the center and never answer when it’s taken away.

    Bryson and Clague are useless.

  2. I tried the game off at a little more than half way through the 3rd at 3-0. The Sabre’s had clearly given up so I was going to spend some time with the Mrs.

My jaw dropped when I saw 7-1.

I’ve been high on this team making the post season for some time. They were scoring a ton. Playing fun hockey. Their plus minus was through the roof and their lower play was elite.

Theres a lot to be excited about, but they’ve been missing something post ASG. I’m not sure they find their way into the playoffs anymore.

It’s kind of interesting we dealt Gaustad at the deadline that year when IIRC we were still very much “in it”.

the “grey piping” on the sweaters era is sorta a no-man’s land era

I think we dismantled the whole thing.

I remember starting to lose belief with the Campbell trade. It’s been 15 years so it’s foggy. But I just remember all this talk about the Sabres needing more production from their defense. Somebody who can move the puck, etc.

And just being like “The WTF did you trade Campbell”.

He was one of my favorites of that era.

I hope Granato is right that he can whisper this kid into being a positive contributor because I like him.

He's clearly a sharp, smart and self-aware 24-year-old hockey player.

"I'm coming to bring in sandpaper, some grit, to play hard and compete..."

We already have our offensive defensemen. If this guy brings a competent level of play and the attributes he listed above a lot of people might forgive KA for not pulling the trigger on Chychryrymn.

I don’t know if anybody is questioning whether he can be rough like sandpaper or strong like bull.

Rather, is he any good at hockey.

D'oh. There goes my Portillo and Levi both sign and we dress 5 goalies dream.

Good trade though if he's going to UFA. Heck, we could still sign him in the offseason.

Now that we've got the 3rd we can trade it for Schenn.

    D'oh, again!

This reminds me of late in the 2011-12 season when we traded Gaustad before the deadline for a first on the last year of his deal.

I legitimately thought he could be coming right back.

Every time the wear them they become something else.

    Proof is in the pudding.

8-1 with scoring 6+ goals in those wins .

Could they go black and red goat heads at home. Then the white reverse retro with blue pants on the road?

That would be kind of great. But also kind of horrible. Can a team have 4 team colors but only wear two at a time? haha

Within this link there are two segments on Sabres Live that discuss potential trades. The segment with Shayna Goldman is 21 minutes long. She is very knowledgeable about the league. The second segment dedicated to trade talks is with Darren Dreger is 11 minutes long. Good hockey talk.

I don’t have time at the moment. Can you help summarize?

I said it first after the Toronto game that UPL won't play again until home game against Columbus.  If he plays well he stays up with Buffalo. If UPL has another off night he will be sent down to play for Amerks while the two vets make the playoff push in Buffalo.

I was actually hoping we’d start to see Anderson at home. Goaltending has been tough at at KBC, and Anderson has the best number in Buffalo by a decent margin I believe.

  9. I’ve been just sort of mapping out the Sabres path to a possible 8th seed in 5-10 game increments.

I certainly knew the road gets tougher come March. But man, I just looked at the schedule.

I thought 5/10 points to finish the month would be quality. But man. I wish we did better to open up post ASB to give us some wiggle room come March.

EDIT: This wasn’t the first time I’ve looked at the March schedule. Sometimes I just try and take stuff in digestible and actionable chunks. This week was the first time I had to fully digest March.
