  1. Some info on Sabres73 - Kevyn Adams was born in 74...hmmmm off by one year? Why? To throw us off the scent? If he was Sabres74 he would have certainly have been outed. - Joined October 2021. The starting month of Kevyn Adams first full 82 game season. And just before the Eichel trade? - Their first post was on the Eichel thread before he was traded. (10/21) - Second post called the Tage Thompson signing "genius" (1/23) - 3rd post said that they were glad fans were not the GM of the team. (1/23) - 4th post was "I will take what this GM has done"(1/23) - Most posts are about how amazing the GM is and how bad the fans are. I basically confirmed Sabres73 (74?) is Kevyn Adams.
  2. He has some people convinced. The more casual fans on social media have been parroting "You don't understand the plan. We are the youngest team in the league". Or "This is the first year that Adams TRIED to make the playoffs. So he has really only failed once. You have to give the guy more than 1 year." There is a stat out there that something like 47% of all internet activity is from bots/ai. I often wonder if the team pays for them to carpet bomb the comments.
  3. @Pimlach is talking about Quinn's achilles injury, which happened in June. 3-4 months before the season started. No replacement was attempted to be brought in. No different than "the kid line" (which looks to be a Cozens issue at this point) No different than not allowing Ryan Johnson to QB the power play in Rochester because of Owen Power.
  4. 5 game win streak? LOL. Fork, I am in baby!
  5. This year the org said that Ryan Johnson would not be QB-ing the power play in Rochester because of Owen Power. . The refusal to develop Ryan Johnsons skill set for the reason of not stepping on Owen Powers toes is a huge part of the problem with this team. Teams need to compete. This team has very little consistent compete to it on a regular basis. It is in the top 3 complaints of probably 95% of the posters on this board. And a big part of that is because they refuse to compete internally. "Not getting in the kids way" and refusing to even have your best defensive prospect fill a role in Rochester because of Owen power is part of that problem. If anything the org should salivate at having another player come in and they should be promoting these guys going at it hard internally. I am not an NHL coach, but I have been a part of a few US National Teams, won a few National Championships, and been the HC for a few National Champions teams. I have never ever been a part of one where we have not had a heavy amount of internal competition. You have to give guys an opportunity to win, but you also have to give them real threats to lose too. I would 100% tell a guy like Ryan Johnson to grit his teeth and go take that role from Owen Power. And everyday I would tell Power that if he doesn't figure it out Ryan Johnson will take his spot. This is how teams get better.
  6. This is about if hockey as we’ve played in a looong time.
  7. Just bumping myself. Called it.
  8. Bummer for the Sabres, we are worse with the man advantage.
  9. It feels like we’re 8 minutes into this game and Girgs - Thompson - Tuch have already played 4 minutes. For a GM who has been here for 4 years I don’t understand how we can only have one defensive pairing and one line. Anybody going to get the man out of the effing crease. Jesus Christ. Dahlin gave him a poke and skated away letting him have his way with UPL.
  10. Tommers and Tuch should have both scored on that opportunity. Sheesh.
  11. There the NHL coaching pool . Then there’s the pool of coaches that Terry is willing to hire, and even within that group there are the coaches that would agree to coach for Terry. The overlap is not significant. I think part of the reason there’s some buzz around Lindy is because he may be one of the better candidates willing to come here and who Terry would hire.
  12. I should have specified shoot left handed.
  13. Dude, I had to go back and keep scrolling through to make sure. It didn't seem real. Even now to grab the link and share it I had to scroll through and double back. It feels like it cannot be correct but it is. Justin Richards is the only one. https://www.amerks.com/team On a real note I am curious how many of our turnovers happen to/from a LH player on the right side. Specifically the stuff deep in our own end.
  14. There are 3 RHF (Quinn is out) and 2 RHD in Buffalo and 1RHF and 4RHD in Rochester. However that Rochester number could drop to 3 depending on what the move is with Sjalin. Also all 5 goalies between both clubs shoot left. I don't know why I find it so hilarious. But I am rooting for more lefties and less righties at this point. Get out of here Tuch, Thompson, Cozens, Joker, and Clifton! On a more serious note the league average for left handed players hovers around 60%. The Sabres are around ~80%. There is a legitimate concern about the ability moving the puck around efficiently when so many guys are constantly having to reposition or take/give passes off the backhand. At this point just make Brandon Beane president of the world and let him make the picks.
  15. I don't care if he was better than Erik Karlsson. I am just here for the all left handed team!
  16. Right Handed Defenders need not apply. GTFO of here righties! If the Sabres don't re-sign Joker Connor Clifton will be our only RHD.
  17. He was just traded. Get outa here righty! It is really happening. We are down to 2 RHD and 3 RHF.
  18. Couldn't we send Erik Johnson down? At this point I am rooting for an all LHD group at the blueline. For anybody who wants to keep Joker around next year don't hold your breath. He is a righty.
  19. At this point of the season I’m too exhausted to get triggered. All I can do is laugh.
  20. Agreed. But also, how do you not cackle at the Sabres grabbing ANOTHER LHD?
  21. I was just typing a response to this but you beat me to it. I overlooked ties because it has been 20 years since there has been a tie in the NHL and I am a dummy and accidentally left them out. My bad. But it still isn't close. Lindy's numbers are: Regular Season W% All: .490 Regular Season W% (97-04 T era): .440 Regular Season P% (97-04 T era): .508 Regular Season W% (04-13 OTL era): .538 Regular Season P% (04-13 OTL era): .594 Playoff W%: .564 Regular Season P% All: .560 Meatballs numbers are: Regular Season W% All: .437 Playoff W%: .000 Regular Season P% All: .488 For reference if you took last season Sabres and increased their.... -W% by .053 (total difference) would be 3rd in the division and leap frog both Tampa, NYI and Florida. - W% by .101 (difference era to era) we would have the same wins as Toronto but lose the 2 seed because of OTL. - P% by .072 (total difference) we would be tied for the 8th seed with Florida. - P% by .106 (difference era to era) we would jump bother Florida and NYI Mind you this is adjusting the best year Don Granato has ever had to Lindy Ruff's average performance. The only place that Meatballs and Lindy are similar is an era of hockey where the rules of the game (standings) were totally different. This is exactly why comparing W% 's between era's where 100% of games get 2 points and a winner to another era where 10-15% of games end without a winner/2 points at all. There is a reason that historically hockey coaches are not sorted by W%.
  22. Dooooooood. How can you look two records where one coach won more games than the lost and the other coach lost more games than they won and go "Seeeeeee they have the same win percentage". Lindy: 571-510 (571 wins/1081 games), W% .528 Meatballs: 112-144, (112win/256 games) W% .437 For W% you have to move OTL to L. Otherwise you have to use P%. I don't know what you did, but you didn't math properly....like at all. They don't have the same W% or the same P% and it isn't particularly close.
  23. Lindy is 571-432-78 in Buffalo with a .560 P%. https://www.hockey-reference.com/coaches/ruffli01c.html ***** Ranato is 112-118-26 with a .488 P%. His best season is .555. His career year is worse than Ruff's average year. https://www.hockey-reference.com/coaches/granado01c.html I think there is a chance that you just made this up. EDIT: Aparently D-O-N-G Ranato gets censored. What a bummer. Such a great opportunity there.
  24. It feels like it is almost mite hockey like.... "Ok when the puck is in the right corner LW you go here, C you go there, RD stand at the blue line along the boards. Now if it is in the right corner, everybody do the opposite."
  25. 7 career fights. 3 in the NHL. All of them give off big Dylan Cozens vibes. Fishbowl incoming. https://www.hockeyfights.com/players/24753
