  1. Was unsure where to put this: Found out today the Sabres built a 1mil sauna in the locker room for Eichel during that scramble to placate Eichel. Was honestly not surprised
  2. Frankly I'd guess NHL players would be more predominantly in line with a more "old-fashioned" line of thinking. For players not looking to live fast and loose and have a long time girlfriend; locking them up isn't exactly inconceivable. Players in hockey, do tend to be of Christian origin and will use the motifs and typical behaviors in everything from interviews to what charity work they do. You also have the interesting circumstance of Europeans tending to be more secular however the ones that aren't tending to be more outwardly religious. To sum it up, I don't really see Power or Thompson's marriages and religious overtones being an issue as I wouldn't be surprised if many of the players are at very least passively religious.
  3. Well that is certainly high on the reasoning for sure
  4. Better than: Philly Possibly better than: Carolina (Andersen is frequently injured) Pittsburgh (Silovs has potential and Jarry is Russian Roulette) Columbus (Merzlikins has declined greatly the last 3 years and their back up I have never heard of) Red Wings (Gibson, which version shows up and for how long?)
  5. Huh? I’m unsure how to even compute this. Most hockey players are going to fall on the more conservative side of beliefs and are going to be more likely to have more traditional relationships since they’ll be the breadwinner 99.9% of the time and if they have children the mother will almost certainly stay at home. Why would that have any impact on the team? If they tend to have a more traditional relationship how is that a bad thing? As I said their playing career effectively pidgin-holes them into a more traditional role set up. Otherwise they can’t have children. And sorry if this might be controversial but if a baby is born; at very least one parent should be a primary caretaker for the child. Last I checked players don’t retire upon becoming fathers so there you go. Frankly there’s a reason traditional roles have been used for centuries; it works well. And it’s not as if the wife has a gun to her head to have babies and stay home 24/7. That “regressive” statement really gets my blood boiling. They like to make it sound like traditional roles requires a nigh 1930’s or earlier style of behavior and that it’s automatically a negative.
  6. Crazy Train will always be a sporting event staple that I know him from. He was the odd MTV guy by the time I was old enough to understand stuff but I’ve come to really like some his bigger hits like Mama, I’m coming home, Flying High again and Paranoid. (Iron Man and a few others are also great) Plus he seemed like an alright kind of guy.
  7. Not interested in playing the OS game; we need our 26 1st for any semblance of safety if things go belly up again. I don’t feel McTavish will give a boost this season to assure us a playoff berth or that he might ever reach his contract level.
  8. The thing is Buffalo helps with the American average and viewership percentages. Even with a smaller real number we create a legitimate percentage booster when kept at a macro level.
  9. I thought you were talking about Tuch lol
  10. I think this is a tad misleading this year since most of those years had no cap increases and presently half the league has more than 5mil in cap space including WPG, CAR, MIN, and the NJD
  11. I doubt it, there isn’t a team in the league that would do that. Even rumors place him around 8.5mil
  12. Joshua isn't a Top 6 forward; Perry was used for 3 reasons. Grit, vet savvy, and the fact that in his prime he was a Top 6 player. You can't just stick a random tough guy in the Top 6 and expect it to actually achieve anything. Most players in Joshua's category aren't skilled enough to keep up. Additionally physicality means more in the playoffs than the regular season.
  13. That wasn't at all my point Our lineup presently: Benson-Norris-Tage Zucker - Kulich - Tuch Quinn - McLeod - Doan ??? - ??? - ??? To fill those 4th line role we already have Greenway, Krebs, Danforth, Malenstyn and Kozak. Let's put Krebs at 4C and Greenway at a wing So now Danforth, Malenstyn and Kozak have a singular spot to play
  14. Could he learn center; yes Would it be wise to; probably not He certainly brings the defensive competence that great centers have and is a sneaky good playmakers
  15. He wouldn’t of been a good pick up due to Greenway being retained however had he been traded or walked I would of approved I wish him great health and zero NHL success for the next 3 seasons 😉
  16. Frankly didn’t want Joshua at his cap hit, he’s just Greenway more or less.
  17. All 3 you mentioned are arguably better already Chinakov had a whopping 15pts last year in 30 games and isn’t physical. So unless the plan is to trade Krebs for him it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense
  18. That’s where I don’t excuse them. It’s like the best they are willing to do is give it the old college try. Either that or they refuse to upgrade small, only large. Essentially Pegula won’t sign off on new lucrative contracts and dead contracts if the change is negligible.
  19. @Brawndo mentions we talked to a candidate for replacing Wilford but he turned us down. Could the franchise honestly be trying but be effectively getting stonewalled at every opportunity while also being too incompetent to find a way out of the mess. This isn’t to say Adams is innocent; he needed to be fired last year during December’s spiral, but could it be possible his smug/self-righteous persona that emerged is a sign that he’s trying, getting denied then being ridiculed by the media about it constantly. I do honestly wish we could know how much of our issues are self-inflicted versus environmental and or out of our control.
  20. That's the trick, we are doubtful to get within 5mil of the cap ceiling so we can go 1 mil + 3mil in production/games played based incentives Plus you can convince Pegula of the possibility he doesn't hit all 3 incentives
  21. Here's a random idea that could be a clever way to get another scorer Max Pacioretty, he's still unsigned and still wants to play Played very solid in the playoffs for the Leafs and even increased his hitting. In lieu of trading for a more assured upgrade; I'd throw him a 1mil contract with a few incentives and just see how it goes
  22. Pretty funny; regardless of our situation I can appreciate the social media team’s effort for fun. Dallas and Toronto are the best.
  23. There are 4 primary issues with Rust 1. Age 2. His stats are inflated by Crosby 3. Many potential buyers 4. Defensive play is questionable at best Also I have zero interest in moving our 2026 1st or Helenius for him. If you can use other pieces I can grin and bear it but don’t trade our only legit C prospect and the only safety net we have for next off season
  24. I’d certainly offer Tuch 8x8.5mil and then see if we can grease his palms on the side akin to how the Leafs do with players. Want lifetime Bills tickets? I don’t think we or anyone could offer Tuch 8/7x 10 mil, it’s just not feasible for any team in the NHL
  25. He sums it up rather well, unlike the NFL a player cannot renegotiate a contract nor can a team approach a player to do the same.
