As expected. The Amerks play 3 games from 1/31 to 2/3. Levi will be starting at least 2 of those games. No benefit to having Levi sit during the NHL all-star break.
Yup. And Comrie had a baby in December. Gets to enjoy the bye week with his family.

Neuchev is starting to take off. He’s beginning to remind me of JJ Peterka’s rookie season with Rochester. JJP at Christmas had 4 goals and finished the season with 28 goals.
Neuchev since Dec 29th:
Games: 7; Goals 4, Assists 7- 11pts
Prior Dec 29th:
Games 22; Goals 2, Assists 3- 5pts

What in Adams' history as the Sabres' GM makes you think he'll be aggressive to improve the team?
What RFA did he not re-sign? Since the TM core teardown, what important player has he traded away? Asplund? What top 6 forward or top 4 did he acquire? What prospect did he trade away to substantially upgrade his current roster?
Nothing. But not every off-season is the same. The team is in a different spot now with the teams age and expectations.
I also think they have more intel on their own prospects now and know there isn’t enough room for all of them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they deal couple of the prospects to help the team next season. Then returns could be pretty significant if they deal Savoie and Rosen imo.

Let's see, our GM's motto is to do the absolute minimum and take the least amount of risk with FAs.
Thus I expect
1) UPL/Levi to be the goalies next season
2) Defense - with 5 guys under contract and a 6th (Joki) an RFA, I expect more of the same with one depth signing.
3) Forwards - 8 are under contract - Skinner, Thompson, Tuch, Cozens, Quinn, JJP, Greenway and Benson. Mitts and Krebs are RFA. He'll re-sign Robinson and promote at least 1 of Savoie, Rosen, or Kulich. Those 12 will be the forwards for 2024/25 with again one FA depth signing.
Don't you feel better already about next season? Didn't think so!
I know there is a lot of frustration being thrown at the lack of moves by Adams, by me too, but there is no way they are running it back next season. Absolutely no chance.
I don't think they will be super quiet come trade deadline, but this summer is very important for them. Gotta shake this team up. I wish it was with the coach as well but at the very least player wise.

Blame Jost lol, that's too funny.
Since the tweet is on to the absurd how about this instead. It was because of the call up time. They got one look at what playing for the Sabres was like and decided F this, why am I trying to make that team? Cut me so I can go elsewhere. Now there's a theory for you lol.
lol yeah, i swear i almost just copy and pasted it and not put the whole tweet in to show the stats. haha
FWIW, with last night's loss, Amerks are 6-3-1 with Jost.

I am not sure the tweet's Jost speculation is reasonable in any way...
Yeah, i posted that to show current form of Rosen and Kulich. haha

Amerks just lost 4-0 to the Comets and our top prospects are in a funk.

forwards- Blake Coleman, Tomas Hertl, Lawson Crouse
defense- Rasmus Anderson or MacKenzie Weeger, Thomas Harley, Gustav Forsling, Justin Faulk, Brendan Dillon, Dylan Demelo
goalie- Saros, Gibson
I've seen Weeger's name mentioned few times. 7 years left on that deal with his style of play doesn't really seem like a smart investment.

Cayden Lindstrom at 7th. Do we like that?
He's 6'4" 217 btw 😏
I would pick Lindstrom if i had the second pick.

I just hope garbage time numbers doesn’t factor too heavily in the decision at end of the year
I think the only factor that will truly go into it is his contract. Firing a coach before his extension even starts has to be one of the worst looks possible. I still don't think Sabres will do it.

Interesting write-up in the athletic about Vancouver's interest in Jordan Greenway. Unless i'm reading too much into it?

It’s MLK weekend and possibly a Bills playoff game. Sabres are scheduled in the afternoon Sat and Mon. Might times get changed so as not to conflict with Bills?
Since Bills play the late night game on Sunday, i highly doubt they'll be put to play as the first game on Saturday. So i doubt theres any schedule interference.

Trading Okposo? Pipe dream.
After all the preaching Adams does about wanting players who want to be here, they're not going to trade a veteran, their captain, who they just re-signed this past summer and send him packing in December or January. Okposo is a trade candidate at the trade deadline, if he chooses, to go to a contender and get one more crack at the playoffs. Even then, i doubt there would be interest in him.
The current situation isn't ideal but you can forget about them trading Okposo and naming a new captain mid-season.

Irrelevant stat of the day.
The Sabres are 4-6 with Samuelsson in the lineup, 3-0-1 without him
And 3-0-0 with Bryson.

Buffalo has had October & November attendance problems throughout the drought. This isn’t new.
Sabres averaged 17,100 per game in the season covid hit.

Final was 8-4 Laval.

Ryan Johnson careless giveaway on the blueline and a odd-men rush the other way and 4-2 Laval. Woof.
-
Crazy first period.
3-2 Laval. Amerks goals by Warren and Davies.
Shots 16-6 Laval.
-
Don Stevens just mentioned Biro is out with an injury.
-
Looks like Biro is missing from the Amerks lineup. Did he get hurt or is he possibly en route to Buffalo?

If that's the mindset then who cares about Olofsson, his value will always be small. Teams already have a large sample size to go by. Might as call up Kulich and let him learn defense on the fly.
Elliott Friedman last night during the 2nd intermission of the Vancouver game on HNIC said it wasn't achilles, it was his ankle. He said the Sabres will know how serious it is on Monday.
