Yes, PLEASE, sell the Sabres...I want owners who care. How does that have so many votes? The Bills got rid of Watkins, Woods, Goodwin, Gilmore, Dareus, and several others, while getting nothing of value in return.
The Pegulas spent a lot of money to not care.
Among others, Watkins, Woods, and Gilmore were free agents who walked. I believe it happens in pro sports.

Guess no one wants Risto. A real shame.

You hit on an interesting point.
Is Botterill so paralyzed with fear and indecision resulting from the ROR roster ruination that he is literally now incapable of pulling the trade trigger?
At the same time, it is highly likely that opposing GMs are going to now negotiate with him with intensified toughness, demanding unrealistically favorable terms in the belief that Botterill has no clue what he is doing, and that a good deal is to be had when dealing with Buffalo.
Combine these two factors and perhaps we should not be surprised that Botterill has sat on his hands for so long.
I wonder if the guy is damaged goods at this point from this perspective. I.E., the ROR incident broke Botterill.
If so, Pegula might want to think about acquiring a new GM, assuming he wasn't thinking about that anyway.
He traded for Montour well after ROR was gone.

Anyone else depressed?

Let's have a Buffalo double header win tomorrow, please.

In my opinion Jbot destroyed this teams progress by trading ROR. He left a gaping hole down the middle that he never filled. We are still paying the piper for that. His drafting has been suspect as well. Mitts looks like a bust. Dahlin desperately needs development.
I'll buy that!

Now all he has to do is become a 30 goal scorer this season.

Botterill needs to make some trades to bring in real forwards on contracts that extend beyond this season. They have so much cap freeing up next year that they should be able to get a head start on using some of it if they can find some takers for picks and cap dumps of pending UFAs. I really don't want them to have to get into FA bid wars and whatnot over middle-six level players, but that might have to happen too.
Perhaps he can sue the Blues for highway robbery and get O'Reilly back.

I don't necessarily need bottom 6 players to "light up" the scoreboard, but they have to contribute in some way when not scoring...and that being said, they have to score at least a little...especially the 3rd line guys. As the 1/4 pole is quickly approaching...
Goals+Assists
Erod 0+1
Girgensons 1+3
Larsson 1+1
Sobotka 1+2
Vesey 0+2
Okposo 1+4
Sheary 3+1Re Erod, he hasn't been playing much and who's he been playing with? Not saying he's a scoring machine but he has talent. Ask Jack.

Erod would perhaps be less invisible if he was playing regularly and in the top six. He's been playing on mediocre teams, which can drag you down as well. Secondly, all teams need role players that don't necessarily light up the scoreboard. The role player we truly need is someone who can police the game. My favorite these days is Tom Wilson of the Caps: tough, intimidating, and can score.

Let's wait until they won't likely be an embarrassment.

Betty's, it's nestled away on Virginia St, Great place, I have eaten there before, and though I'm not huge into the GF and etc, I loved it there.

I agree with Eleven. Any trade Bots makes will have to be a good trade for the Sabres. He is hardwired that way, otherwise there would have been 1-2 more trades before camp started.
If he has a good trade in front of him, I hope he flips the switch and makes it known that what is being seen on the ice is unacceptable.
What happened to the hardwire when he traded O'Reilly? That trade was great but for the wrong team.

If we don't have grit on the farm, bring some in via a trade. We sorely need it.
-
When we fall behind we lose focus. In a number of games, including this one, we forecheck hard early on and put pressure on the other team. The early shots on goal numbers exemplify this. If we fall behind, the forecheck disappears and we basically start running around (losing focus) and allow the opposing team to begin and continue to dominate. That's probably a coaching thing more than anything else. Aside from that, we're a very soft team. Gritty teams make it difficult for the other team to dominate. For example, teams think twice before they toy with the Caps. A primary reason is Tom Wilson. He'll make them pay big time. It's quite possible we're too dependent on Scandinavian players in this regard. They're generally finesse players. I guess what I'm saying is this team lacks consistency, toughness, and balance.

Too little too late.

Win a damned faceoff when you're short handed.

What a dumb penalty.

This is the glaring need on this team. No grit. No toughness. No willingness to get physical.
Amen! This team needs someone like Tom Wilson. Perhaps too many Scandinavians/finesse players.,

Some sustained control of play would be ... good.
You're expecting a bit much. TB playing really tough D whenever we cross the line. And f it wasn't for Montour, we'd rarely get out of our own end.
Who is the Sabres 2nd Best Forward?
